Remarks
The college was established in the year 1960, spread over 85 acres with beautiful infrastructure and greenery all around. The exam through which one get admission is JEE. Clearing the cut-off and getting a decent score in the exam would easily get you into college. Admissions usually start in the month of JULY through the MP DTE portal. As it is government (autonomous) college fees is not that high. The students who pass out from this college are in various good positions and performing enormously well. Noble laureate winner KAILASH SATYARTHI is also alumni of our college. PROS: Government college, provide scholarships to meritorious students, clubs for students with different interests and talents etc. Every year Tech fest is held in which different competition and workshops are organised. Cultural fest SU is held for students to showcase their talent. CONS: The only cons are that it is located in a small city, so much exposure.
Course Curriculum Overview
As Electrical Engineering is a core branch and there are many govt jobs for the same. There are 60 students in each branch, CSE(120). The college follows its own curriculum and syllabus as it is autonomous. The faculties are highly qualified and well experienced. Most of the teachers are PhD holders and thus have deep knowledge in their area. Some of the teachers are appointed under TEQUIP-3 and thus are quite knowledgeable and teach very well. Teachers are quite helpful and clear all our doubts. Laboratories are there but some instruments are very old so they do not work properly, else everything is good. Libraries are provided with a large number of books covering the syllabus of the course curriculum and other competitive exams. There are also libraries of all the branches separately so there will be never a shortage of books. Exams: one who study properly in college easily pass the exam. Special gate classes are also held for the pre-final and final year.
Placement Experience
Campus placement generally begins from the 7th sem. I am in 3rd year so I am not placed now. But last year IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro came in which students from all the branches were eligible. The average package provided is 3.5 to 5 lacs. Sometimes the salary goes even to 7 lacs depending on the talent of the student. The percentage of students placed is not that high. T & P cell try their best to prepare the students well for the company interview. There are not many placement opportunities for the students belonging to core branches, as no core branches visit. They either have to prepare for higher students or try their luck off-campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for different branches varies for CSE and core branches (EE, ME, CE) -60K/YEAR. And for non-core branches like EI, EC, PCE -78K/YEAR. Scholarships are available for meritorious students under different categories, reserved categories and for students who are not financially very well.
Campus Life
The campus is huge spread across 85 acres with greenery all around. Tech fest: There is one tech fest held every year in March, SATYARTH- In which various technical competitions and workshops are held and EDM night is also held which is my personal favourite. Cultural fest: Popularly known as SAMRAT UTSAV is held every year in April, in which students show their talent in a different area and win prizes. Meritorious students are also awarded. Libraries have more than sufficient books are available on all the subjects. Labs need little improvement in terms of equipment. Sports and other facilities: Sports facilities are great, students also go to other colleges for nodal and win prizes as well.
Interview Experience
One needs to give the entrance exam JEE to get admission into college. Anyone who clear the exam or get a decent rank easily get admission. Admission is through the MP DTE portal. One can also get into the college through internal counselling. As some seats are always left in some branches so students also get admission on the basis of their board exams. Interview or GD: There was no such interview or group discussion held for the admission process.
