Remarks
IIT Tirupati is a 3rd generation IIT which has several pros and cons. Some pros include all the students will have their chances to showcase their talents, and several cons include the less infrastructural facilities, a small campus, etc. I looked into several blogs like Quora, collegeduina, career 360, and several personal blogs of various alumni IITians. The admission is pretty simple that if we perform well in JEE Advanced and get a good rank, we can get a seat in IITs. After that, we need to get into the counseling process, where you will be allotted a seat in an IIT that is appropriate to our JEE Advanced rank. There will be around 5 to 7 rounds in the counseling process based on the students who appeared to the JEE entrance exams. All the details about the counseling process and the previous years opening and closing ranks are available on the JOSA website. I am happy with my decision of getting into IIT Tirupati.
Course Curriculum Overview
I had to choose between CSE in NITs and some core branches in the new 3rd generation IIT. Then I thought being in an IIT will help me enhance my skills and ideas. The faculty is outstanding, and there are around 92 faculty, and few are yet to join. The student to faculty ratio would be about 1.14. All the faculty in the IIT's must have a PhD, and the teaching process is the same as it is in all other IIT's. There will include two quiz exams and one end semester in the regular offline semester, along with few assignments here and there during the semester.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the campus offers off-campus internship opportunities, and all the students must do an internship. Various multinational companies, including Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, Bosch, L&T, Wipro, Ashok Leyland, etc., have offered internships. And till date, the institute has recorded 100% internship opportunities for the students.
Placement Experience
Students from the final year are eligible for the campus placements. To date, two batches have passed out of IIT Tirupati. Last year the highest package was around 43 lakhs, and the average package is approximately 13 lakhs per annum. Various companies, including Amazon, Microsoft, Tata, Wipro, L&T, Bosch, etc., have attended campus placements to recruit students. The institute has a placement percentage of 92%.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The tuition fee for each semester will be one lakh. Along with the tuition fee, there will e various deposits and some examination fees alongside the hostel fee for the students who reside on the campus itself, including the mess bill. There will provide financial assistance for the students whose parents' annual income is very low. For additional details, one can check the institute website, where all the details are available.
Campus Life
The campus life here in IIT Tirupati is incredible. The students here are from various states in the country, and you can find a large diverse atmosphere here on the campus. Every year, a techno-cultural fest of the college named 'Tirutsava' brings a festival-like atmosphere here on the campus. There are around 15 clubs that include coding, robotics, chess, photography, trekking, acting, singing, etc., which are all run by the student body and are monitored by the dean of student affairs. All the classrooms are air-conditioned and are highly equipped with projectors and live streaming facilities. The institute has a very good library prominently called as Central library contains around 8000 books, 6600+ journals, 10+ databases and etc.
Hostel Facilities
Every student who resides in the hostel will be provided with a bed, almirah, study table, and a chair. The hostels are located on the campus itself, along with all the classrooms and labs. The hostel blocks are equipped with excellent internet that helps students browse various study materials even in the hostels. The mess facility is also available to all the students who reside in the hostels. The quality and the quantity of food that is served in a mess is excellent and is also inspected regularly.
