My college experience

One among three colleges in India which offers 4-year degree. Our university has an American credit system and offers a liberal education on inter-disciplinary learning. Research-based teaching from the first year. Admission process contains two-stage interview and scholarships. Admission starts from June, class starts in July last. There are only 4 months in a sem, rest 2 months is off (open to do internships/ research oppurtunity/ just chill like vacay).

Faculty are simply awesome, 90% of faculty have postdoc, even the teaching assistant have a PhD or are doing PhD. Faculty are very open and our bond grows each day. Teaching methods are very unique as compared to my friend's colleges. It's more about practical based, research-oriented. Exams are moderate.

Microsoft, Atul, Aarti Industries, Bosch, Bajaj, RBI, IIsc, HCL, Infosys, IBM, Verzeo, IIT's and many major companies or institutions offer opportunities. I have done an internship in Microsoft, IIT Bombay and Verzeo. The project depends on which you chose. I have done in statistical physics and cloud computing. Most of the students get an internship in the first year itself also we have a research thesis in our last year.

90% of students get campus selection in top companies or institutions. But most people prefer higher studies. I'm not sure about the annual package, but I think the average will be around 5 lakhs/annum. I am looking for higher studies abroad.

Fees for 1 sem is 105000 and there are financial assistance and scholarship. If we good marks in 12th, then 80-90% will be ruled. Also, families below 6 lakh per annum will also get financial assistance.

Campus life is simply awesome. Chiasma is tech fest, also every alternate month 1 or another fest, quizzes, clubs are also awesome in every discipline whether it be dance, music, quiz or even drama. The library is very huge and multiple copies of books are available. There is even a digital library. The furniture is also awesome with a modern contemporary touch. We have a big green cricket ground and space for every sport including a sports complex.

Our hostel was in an apartment run by oxford caps. The room is air-conditioned, 2 sharing, with 2 tables, common room, kitchen with microwave oven and induction cooker, bathroom with heater, bean bags, single wooden coat and 2 almirahs. Food is good and they are providing non-veg for 3 days and also evening snacks.

Logical and concept based, I didn't prepare much, I only prepared for JEE but fortunately, it went very well. There is no certain test pattern. There is a written test on basic maths, CS and English grammar when we enter the college.
