Remarks
Amity University Gurgaon has a massive lush green campus of 110 acres and is one of the best amongst the nearby colleges, the amenities are great ranging from the hostels, cafeteria, sports complex, fests, clubs and DJ nights that were scheduled almost every month by the hostel committees. The clubs were quite active and seminars and guest lectures were conducted at regular intervals, I preferred the college over other colleges due to advise of friends and family who were aware of the college. One negative aspect of the college was its location, it was located near an isolated village, due to which students faced diffculty in commute from other places.
Course Curriculum Overview
Since I had completed my 12th from commerce stream, I had a default inclination towards pursuing commerce in my graduation, also the college placements seemed decent from a bachelors perspective henceforth i choose this college. There were 50 students in my class and we had dedicated faculties who were adept at their problem solving and explanation skills. All the faculties were adequately experienced and were ex-industry experts whose teaching mechanism was industry-driven and pragmatic. Term exams were conducted every 6 months and they were moderate in difficulty, marks were drawn out by compiling attendance, projects and mid term exam marks.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the summer internship program is immersed in almost all the course and various companies do visit the campus to hire interns. A wide variety of roles were offered to the students. There were paid as well unpaid internships offered to the students.
Placement Experience
Getting a good placement from Amity University Gurgaon isn't easy at all, you have to perform really well in academics as well as in other areas. But the deserved candidate get enough chances to bag a decent placement from here. Placements of technical courses are better as compared to all other non-technical courses. Blue-chip companies like Bosch also visit the campus to fulfill their demands.
Fees and Financial Aid
The average fees per year for a three-year BCOM programme was 1,10,000, I was a scholarship student and I got a fifty percent fee waiver in the first and second year due to my class 12 marks, one gets a fifty percent fee waiver for 88 percent and above and a 100 percent scholarship if one has more than 93 percent marks. The approximate cost to study including hostels would be around 2 lakhs a year including hostel mess and residence and course fees, there was no course fee hike but hostel fees was hiked when I was a hosteller.
Campus Life
The annual fest was called AMIFEST which was conducted in the month of February. The library was massive and it was open 7 days a week and had more than necessary books and journals. The classrooms were well equipped with all basic needs and had smart class facilities with AC. There was a sports complex for the sport of each type with related gears for the same, sangathan was the annual sports meet and all extracurricular activities were adequately encouraged in the campus.
Hostel Facilities
There were both AC and non AC rooms with double sharing and single sharing and cupboards, chairs, blankets, pillows, fans etc was provided. The meal quality was great and actually one of the best taking into consideration the quality of food in other hostels, the menu was dynamic and catered to holistic nutrient requirement. The hostels were given by filling a form from the admin department with the subsequent payment of fees, the rooms were allotted.
