My Pride ; My college

One of the best law colleges in India. As compared to other law colleges the fees are also less and they have given installments options to pay fees for economically weak students. And the college library facility is the best. Lectures are very friendly. The admission process is based on merit. we have to submit our application form once we got our pu results after that they would call on the base of marks .law college separately doesn't have a canteen. There is only one canteen for 2 colleges. Well, there are hotels near our college. I had chosen this college because it is very much concerned about its students. And even our college is giving free legal advice to the public.

As my dream is to be an IAS officer I thought pursuing a law degree will help me in my future so I opted for this course. We have 28+lecturers in our college. In my class there are 60 students in another section there are 60 students. Recently 3 of our lecturers got Doctorate. And a few lecturers are working on their projects. Most of all teachers use PPT as it helps us very much. And they even give proper materials and reference books. Our college comes under Karnataka State law university. It is very tough to pass. One cannot pass here without proper hard work. But if we study well then we can clear.

College allows each student to particular advocate to intern. And students even intern under NGO, Police station.

Final year students are eligible for placement. So many law firms and other companies visited our college. After getting my degree I am planning to get coaching for the UPSC exam.

Compared to other law colleges fees is less. This year I had paid 20000. 1st year it was 30000. There are scholarships. Mangalore city corporation scholarship, SDM Education Society scholarship, Vidyasiri. And recently our college has come up with a new program called 5 Rupee revolution. In that program, every SDMite means student, staff, Clark everyone will donate their 5 rs once a month. in the end, it will be given to 10 needy students. There are few cells in college which organize job fair once a year

There are so many fests. It starts on the freshers day. And we organize Teachers day in September. Then there is one law fest which will conduct n March. and there is one commerce fest which will be conducted in December. And there is Youth fest in February. And there is Tulu fest in march. And there is Onam in. And there is an annual day celebration. And there are various days of various cells. As law books are costly most of the students borrow from library only. There are books of our subject. but sometimes there are fewer copies so the other students will not get books. Except for that library, the facility is the best. There is an internet facility and there is the availability of previous year question papers. The classroom is very good. It has sufficient numbers of desk and fan .and there is one projector in each class. Sports is very supported in our college and there is a yoga facility too. NSS, Student union, etc are the groups run by students for students.

I had one interview. 3 lectures were there to ask questions. They questioned my aim and selection of that college. And gave me some advice to reach my goal. They will select students on the basis of marks and other criteria according to government rules.
