Course Curriculum Overview
It is a post graduate course in the field of dental studies. The course duration is three years. We have a annual system rather than having semester wise breakup of the course curriculum. The subjects taught are dental materials, orthodontic history, Adult and child physiology, applied pharmacology, myofunctional orthodontics, perio/ortho/prostho inter relationship etc. This course field is concerned with the study & treatment of malocclusion which is improper bites which might sometimes occur due to tooth irregularity/misappropriate jaw or even both.
Placement Experience
Top recruiters that visited our college were Care hospitals, Apollo, Fortis healthcare, MAX healthcare, Indian Council Of Medical Research etc. Many of my classmates went in the government sector. The average salary ranges from 8 to 12 lpa and the highest package can go as high as per the experience of the person. Internships in field of hospital administration, research, clinical practice etc were also offered to the students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The course fee for one year is around 15 L.The total fee for three years com es down to 45L. This fees include tuition fees, academic fees, caution deposit amount, library fees, hostel & mess charges, club membership fees, maintenance charges etc. The fee structure is really very expensive but thanks to the loan facility that was provided by the college administration that I was able to cover this amount.
Campus Life
Workshops/Seminars on topics such as practice management in orthodontics, bio-statics, biology of tooth movement, relapse & retention etc are held every week to give exposure to the students.National festivals and cultural events such as dancing, music festival, singing competition, pottery, clay modeling etc are conducted at our college. Sports activities such as table tennis, badminton, basketball, football and many more are held by the college council in even semesters.
Admission
The candidate seeking admission in MDS program should be a graduate in BDS from a recognized university wit 50 % marks. 5% seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC etc. Apply via online mode and fill in the necessary details and pay the application fees. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of your qualifying marks in the graduation subject on the basis of which you will be granted admission in the college.
Faculty
The teachers are really supportive and always carry a friendly gesture towards the students. They impart us with dental knowledge and refine our existing skills so that we can solve the oral/dental heath problems faced by the people. Visiting faculty gives us break through training through their own orthodontic experience so that we become specialists in this course.
