Remarks
The campus has clubs such as anti narcotics club and anti ragging club to protest and work against forbidden and bad practices. The college has no particular dress code either but restricts inappropriate dressing.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum had both theory as well as practicals and took place in the classrooms and the psychology labs. There were two labs for testing. The theory part of the course was mainly research and an insight about psychologists and their theories.
Placement Experience
Well reputed companies like TCS, CTS, Matrimony.com, Kazhana and E&Y come in for a walk-in interview. The placement rates are above average but it is only for the postgraduates. For undergraduate programs like ours, the students have to find suitable jobs for themselves.
College Events
The college celebrates different festivals like Christmas, Diwali, Onam and Pongal on campus every year. The students have a great time dressing up for these festivities and participating in events and celebrations.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure differs for all the departments and programs in the college. The fee for our program, Bachelors of Science (Psychology) is ?46,850 for one academic year. The course is for 3 years and the fee has to be paid annually.
Campus Life
The college has courts for badminton, throwball, volleyball, etc. It has a ground for football. The labs in the college are well kept. There are different recreational clubs for the students to participate in like eco club, blue cross club, etc.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are open to the undergraduates and the hostel building has space for up to 300 people to be accommodated. The hostel are satisfactory amenities and the mess food is sumptuous too.
Admission
The college did not have any entrance exam for the B.Sc. course and the admission was on the basis of our AISSCE scores which was also the eligibility criteria to apply to the college. The college then publishes the merit list for the academic year.
Faculty
The department of psychology had adequate faculty members to be at par with the students and the teacher-students ratio was well maintained. The faculty was well qualified, empathetic with the students and motivating.
