Remarks

College management is good at putting fine. Hardly listens to students demand.

Entrance Preview

I only took Odisha-JEE. I didn't appear for IIT. I applied for AIEEE but it was too late. I scored rank 3052 in Odisha JEE. At that time this rank is sufficient to get a Computer Science branch in good private colleges (Sillicon,C V Raman, forget ITER). Also I have option of getting a engineering seat in Govt college in Chemical,Civil kind of less preferred branch. I chose this particular college just beacause i was introvert and homesick. This college is in my home town.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum was very good. As this institute was under BPUT.My branch was electronics and Tele Communication Engineer. But we got to study 7 computer Science subjects. Which is helping me a lot in my IT days. We had Electronics and Telecommunication course as well. Projects were given utmost importance. But thing is guidance was not proper.

Placement Experience

Placement was not good. In my batch in 2009 some 30 out of 360 placed. But in subsequent 3 batches it was good. In 2010,2011,2012 average 70+ placement happened. But again in 2013 and 2014 in came down up to 30.

College Events

College is good at this thing. The main festival is Gajajyoti, which happens in every March. It runs for 3 days. Besides this Spic Machy also held once in a year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is like other colleges under BPUT, but i will not tell good. It is quite expensive compared to the quality. Now it is around 1 lac Per year. For every silly thing one needs to pay fine. eg: If somebody misses convocation ceremony, he/she needs to pay fine of 2000/-. Due to poor placement students were trying outside for jobs. So there is no logic in entertaining with fines. Transporation fee is also quite expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan facility is not directly provided by colleage. At least i never heared that. One has to arrange on his own, Scholarship is there, but very few people in a batch can get that.

Campus Life

Campus life is good. Ragging is less in first year. Good environment for study. Internet is very slow. Sports facility is okay. Lab facility is also okay. Robotics club is there but just for nameshake. competitions like debate, song happens once or twice in year

Hostel Facilities

Boy's Hostel is 3 sharing. Not that comfortable but it is okay. Mess food is okay. Students were encouraged to take hostels. So There is never shortages of hostel rooms. In my view day-scholar also a good option. Rent is very cheap in that area. And all other facilites are available.

External Expense: Rs. 4000 - Rs. 7000

Alumni/Alumna

There is no alumni network. Once students left the college, they just come for collecting the certificates, that is it.

Exam Structure

Exam strtucture is good. There are 3 internals in one semester and 1 main exam. Semester duration is 4-5 months. Very strict at exams. It feels hectic, exams and lab viva. But this is worth taking

Faculty

Faculty is the main demerit of the college. Every branch has 1 or 2 facualties which are good. Except them rest 10 to 12 faculaties are for nameshake.

I like the vibe of the canteen and greenery around my college

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Likes

Beautiful campus with lot's of space and with good computer labs
They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Need to improve administrative building while submitting fees many students face problem
Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Have collabs with IBM, Samsung, Capgemini for RnD and NUS singapore , University of North Texas
Our college has hosted International Conferences like IEEE InGAARS 2025and Indocrypt 2025, where scientists had came from NASA, ISRO, all IITs, Foreign Universities, etc
Exposure is Good. The teachers here put efforts to teach and research. Unlike other colleges where teachers comes and roll out PPTs, here every teacher teaches on Board explaining everything properly

Dislikes

Few teachers speak in Odia accent, so it takes couple weeks to adjust
Campus is kind of small (36acres), but its good area for a IIIT, considering IIIT delhi is just 25 acres
3 occupancy hostels for 1st years (same goes for any other NIT/IIIT), but they have a option of single rooms from 2nd year

Placement Experience:

from 6th sem, students are eligible almost 100 companies visited including IBM, VISA, Infosys, DE Shaw etc. Highest is 63 LPA and avg is 12-13LPA 90% placements I may consider doing MBA if I dont get very big package

From sixth semester you are eligible for campus placement. Companies visited are Tata power, Adani, OPTCL and others.The highest package for electrical engineering is 10 lacs. 60percent marks is required for getting placement.

My college is best

Likes

Things I like is to good faculty, garden.
VSSUT provides the best amenities and bathrooms.
Excluding hostel & other facilities are like good.

Dislikes

The water quality is not good at all from mess side.
The drainage system is not maintained well.
The surroundings are not clean and the guarda are strict.

Placement Experience:

Some say that the celllege has better placements, but that the salary is not very lucrative. Infosys, Tata Steel, IBM, Wipro, Cisco Systems, Larsen and Cognizant, Maruti Suzuki, Adani Group. My plans are to go to better iim for mba

Likes

The professor who taught in our class they are taught is best In teaching.
They provide you many opportunities to work upon on you.
The infrastructure of college is good and huge.

Dislikes

The campus is very vast, and you have to walk for every minute of work.
The are very serious about your study and what you are doing
The gate get closed if you get came late even it's 5-10 minute late.

Placement Experience:

It's good as many company come but the placement directly depend on your study and hard work of your 4 year and a pre placement also conduct in 3rd year where you can also get placed. For placement the student should secure 8-10 cgpa for sit in interview exam.

I gave the IMCA exam for Utkal University but I didn't find the hostel facilities so well over there and there is a lot of forest area near the mca department at utkal university so I didn't take admission in that college but in comparison to utkal university our college has a better hostel infrastructure as well as hygiene in the room but bathroom hygiene is still a concern at times but not always the cleanliness staff work their level best to keep the bathroom clean. Glimpse of Centurion university - shaping the future

To be very precise i didn't go for any other private college this was my 1st and last choice of selection because of the fee structure which is under my budget and in Odisha only 2 to 4 colleges do provide this course but sadly i have to mention that from 2024 they have stopped this course along with emergency medical technology and operation theatre technology due to lack of students in the field.
