The Tamil University is a most prestigious institution in Tamilnadu. They are known for their great research projects on the Tamil literature. Despite from that, they also provide quality education in unique streams and courses.
Course Curriculum Overview
This course is a full-time one year program. The main aim of this course is to monitor the coastal ecosystem and their zones through various scientific methods. The implementation of remote sensing, geomorphology, oceanography in relation to the marine field management is quite impressive. We really enjoy learning this course.
Placement Experience
We have a career guidance cell in our university. The main aim of that cell is to guide students through various procedures of placement and train them for attending drives. They work together with the faculties of the university. They organize various workshops and guest lectures for the benefit of students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is much lower in this university. I paid only ?.2,000/- for this PG diploma course. Actually this fees is not same for all PGDM. It differs to each course. The maximum fees for PGDM is ?.5,000/-.
Fees and Financial Aid
The students are provided with scholarships and funds by the university. There are separate scholarships for BC, MBC, SC and ST community students. For an in-depth research on Tamil literature, the foreign students are endowed with scholarships.
Campus Life
The university encourages sports. There are some cells to help the students inside the campus. They are grievance redressal cell, discrimination remedial cell, etc. We have a museum, an open air theatre and a digital library facility. The university also provides study materials on e- G Patshala.
Hostel Facilities
The university provides accommodation for the students. There are separate hostel for both boys and girls. The rooms are furnished with basic amenities and maintained neat. The mess provides a healthy diet.
Alumni/Alumna
The university has a network for the alumni students. The old students share the useful information regarding various opportunities in their field and the current trends. The help us to stay updated in our fields.
Admission
The procedure for applying a PG diploma course is that you should go to their website www.tamiluniversity.ac.in and download the form. After filling the application form, attach the needed documents and post it to the university. There will an entrance exam for all the courses. The eligibility for this program is a post graduate degree in science stream. Finally based upon the entrance score and PG marks, I was selected for this course.
Faculty
The faculties of the university are more experienced in teaching. The faculties of our department have so far published 30 books and 64 research projects. Our Sankar sir is specialized in hydrogeology and geophysics. Our Neelakatan sir is specialized in remote sensing and GIS.
