Really good infrastructure and Facilities

The course curriculum is well structured. It covers chapter to develop our knowledge. Curriculum for the course was quite fine. The curriculum also included an MS Office orientation program and use of the internet. The BBA course, of which I was a member, addressed all the business management fundamentals. We had choice of choosing between the elective subjects.

The number of placements varies from program to program. There were a lot of students placed from my class. Some of the recruiters that are common include IDBI Federal and Apollo Lite etc. Most of the students were recruited for leadership positions.

There were a lot of extramural programs that were part of our annual program. In our college we celebrate many popular festivals such as Christmas, Pongal. In the organized intercollege tournaments our sports team secured many awards.

Fee was about 10k for one year which was really minimal. Students , especially female students, can take advantage of several scholarship plans provided by the college and the state government. This encouraged more female candidates for pursuing graduation.

Throughout our college the extracurricular programs have been strongly promoted. The college will systematically carry out various Blood Group Recognition programs, fight against drug trafficking, Cancer awareness program, etc. Also, we have participated in many sports activities. Our seniors used to coordinate it. The life at the campus was very jazzy and memorable. The infrastructure is strong and the equipment were above the par.

We have an Alumni Association that help to cultivate and improve partnerships between Alumni and current SSC students. I am a part of Alumni and we initiate, lead and drive Alumni initiatives and projects on campus or within the local community, and reflect and support SSC Alumni feedback/suggestions/ concerns to the SSC management.

Salem Sowdeswari College [SSC] offers B.A, B.Sc., B.Com, M.A and M.Sc. programs. It also conducts professional degree courses in BCA, BBA, MBA and MCA and research courses in M.Phil. and PhD. For admission to UG courses one must have qualified the 12th exam from a recognized board and pass the TANCET exam. For PG courses the students with 55% marks in graduation can apply and need to pass the common entrance conducted by the Periyar University. The application process is offline.

Our teachers are very competent and provide assistance whenever needed. They are highly qualified, possess a Master's degree in multiple qualifications and are enriched with knowledge. Quality of teaching is outstanding.
