B.Tech CSE at SRMSI

The college life here is really nice because of the great faculty support, good infrastructure, practical based learning approach and the placements records. Overall the campus life is one of the best they not only teach engineering but also teaches us how to survive and excel as engineers in real life. They provide top-notch quality of study environment that everyone can get used to and appreciate over time.

Computer Science is one of the best engineering field to study and gives a really fruitful career if one is good at dealing with computers. The course here is both theory and practice oriented. The exam structure of SRMSI is same as Uttar Pradesh Technical University as the college is affiliated to the UPTU. Semesters are filled with exams like unit tests, mid-term tests and semester-exams along with lab exams.

The college really prepares the students to survive in the workplace and also how to excel in their life. Regular training programs are conducted to enhance our employability. The training programs mainly focuses on enhancing the soft skills and programming ability. The training given in the Placement Cell is innovative and extra-ordinary. In addition to the co-curricular activities, we are always loaded up with a wide range of value-added courses in order to improve and refine our overall potential. Companies which come to college excluding a few offers decent package but almost everyone gets placed in those companies.

As is a saying, "Everything comes with a price" the fees here are a bit high. In total, the four years of study costs near about ?4,60,000/- including extra charges required for the studying purposes. I have to pay around ?30,000/- every semester as I'm a scholarship holder. There are various scholarships granted to the students on the basis of merit/financial background. Hostel fees are also on the higher side costing around ?7000/- per semester.

Our college has various clubs and sports facilities that are available to us everytime. Every year our College organises lots of events. We get to celebrate many traditional festivals like Pongal, Diwali, Onam, etc. Some of the cultural programs include dancing, singing, drawing competitions. Science fairs, book fairs are also held at our College campus. Tech Fests are also organised on an yearly basis. All sorts of sports and games like basketball, football, cricket and all other indoor games are also played in many in campus and inter-college tournaments.

After my class 12 board exams, I wanted to pursue my higher education in Computer Science and Engineering and so I appeared for the JEE Mains and I was selected through my rank in JEE Mains. I chose SRMSI because of its reviews and reputation which are very good and everybody knows every college has its pros and cons. The teaching methodology of this college is great and placements are also good.

In SRMS Bareilly, there is plethora of highly qualified faculty and staff who regularly motivate us to participate in technical activities for enhancing our fundamental technical knowledge. The faculty regularly encourages us to participate in various inter-disciplinary and industry sponsored contests as well as cultural events in and outside our college. Most of the Professors hold a PhD degree and are great contributors in their respective fields of study. Even in labs the support staff is very well knowledgeable. But the college is really very strict about the teaching procedure.
