Remarks
College management was good enough but they can do a lot of improvements in terms of placement assistance and students grooming and creating a career path for students.
Entrance Preview
MAT, 95 percentile, My primary location preference was Bangalore and i had shortlisted 3-4 colleges and IBMT was best as per my budget and commuting to college.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was mix of Marketing, Economics, International Business, Business communication, Organizational behavior, Business Law. We also had to do 2 months of summer internship training at any corporates as part of the course requirement.
Internships Opportunities
I did my internship at Tata Motors Limited, Bhubaneswar branch. I had to prepare a detailed market research on Odisha market including all the government and private existing and upcoming projects where Tata motors can plan to increase its heavy commercial vehicles sales.
Placement Experience
80% students got placed. HDFC, ICICI, SiliconIndia, Delloitte, etc. came to campus. Average salary offered was 3 lakh INR/annum.
College Events
Annual Management fest was celebrated every year in grand manner where other B-school students get invitation and present their case studies and Business cases. Dance competition, Fashion shows, Business Case solving were all part of the fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
During 2008-2010 course fees were 5.5 lakh for 2 years. It was feasible taking in to consideration the amount being charged by other B-schools at that time.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
I am not aware of any good scholarship or loan facility offered by IBMT but the private banks like HDFC, ICICI were more than willing to grant education loans to clearing students.
Campus Life
Gender ratio stood at 60:40 for Boys to gals. There were regular hostel parties sometimes conducted by hostel management and sometimes by students contribution.
Alumni/Alumna
During Management fests and other cultural programs we used to get chance to interact with alumni network and it was good experience in terms of getting to know the nuances of working in corporate and difference between class room education and real life case studies.
Exam Structure
Exams and labs were very frequent and days were very hectic. We had trimester and exams used to happen every 4 months.
Faculty
Faculties were very responsive to students queries, were accessible all the time, very patient in terms of listening to students and clarifying their doubts. Last but not the least they trusted their students and instilled some kind of Business ethics which i believe is the most important thing in today's Business place.
