My journey at MGM

My course was 5 and 1/2 years long in duration, this is including the 1 year of internship. It was recognised by the medical council of india. We had about 100 students in the class. Our course was revised to meet the international and indian standard of using medicine. We also had guest lecturers come in and give us useful information from time to time.

Our college is in a hospital so we could apply there after graduation or look into other hospitals. There weren't many placement options by the college, but since we had 1 year internship we did it there without an pay. We learned a lot from our college which many of us took to other hospitals.

I paid 20 lac rupees per year while studying MBBS. It was a tad bit expensive but counting the experience i gained it was reasonable. It was definetely affordable than some other private colleges from back then. I was a bit dissapointed that i couldn't be paid during the internship but it was completely understandable since i was just learning and i learned a lot since then.

We studied at a hospital so we had a lot of lab and work. We had programs like the annual function etc. Mostly we had activities or training experiences that helped us professionally. We also had a student council who helped us relax by planning many activites and sports.

MGM had residence available for students which were not that far from the hospital. We had many options like single or double room. We also had facilities like the recreational rooms, laundromat, the mess. It was an amazing place to have lasting friendship as well as relax after a long day at the hospital.

Our college admission is like most medical colleges. We had to write the NEET, the common entrance test. Our admission depended on how much we scored on our 12th and the test. The process is pretty simple as it can get. Few weeks after they let us know about the admission.

The teachers and doctors were very welcoming and qualified enough to give us the training to become good doctors. They made sure that no matter the class size, students had accessibility to them at any given time. The faculty student ratio was 1:4 so they gave us plenty of attention.
