Maac Andheri Review

College is good overall, but they are heavily money-minded and constantly ask you to take part in unnecessary events which are meaningless and just rip your pockets.

It's basically a 2 years program in which they teach you all the necessary software to make an animated movie or to get a job in VFX industry but hardly involve any exams, all the software required is Mandatory to learn and a showreel is required to get a job.

The college offers placement in some small companies but that isn't going to do anything, I strongly recommend getting a job by going and giving interviews in the companies you love.

All events are celebrated in the college with full excitement and enthusiasm, students decorate the campus with the festival theme, beautiful colors, and lights, and we had a lot of fun. But the main drawback was that most of the time the events were mostly driven by students and the Maac system in itself wasn't helpful.

It is quite expensive for a lot of my batch mates as at that time it cost around 3 lakh for a year, for a lot of us however its manageable as some already live in Mumbai and save some money in accommodations and food expenses, transportation is always a factor, hence local train is the best solution.

I haven't opted for any education loan and neither we have any scholarships in the college, all expenses are our own.

College life is good, sometimes they have events like 24fps in which students have to make a short film of their own, it's very interesting and fun, we get to hang around with each other for days in order to get an essence of how the life is like of a studio or a full-time job in our field.

They don't have any hostels of their own however the canteen guy, "anna" helped students to find accommodation nearby, but that area ie. Andheri is very expensive so students tend to find a home anywhere on the western railway in Mumbai preferably in Malad or Goregaon.

Yes, all the seniors are very helpful and the college even conducts regular seminars to give students exposure to the field.

After I graduated from high school, I always had an interest in things like animation, cartoons, and games, therefore I thought to pursue this college, I am always excited to learn and increase my knowledge on how animated movies are actually made and therefore its the best-suited course for me.

The teachers are well educated and very professional, classes time may vary based on specific course and length of a single class is around 2 hr, but its generally enough to cover that day's topic after that we get time to practice what we have just learned in the campus along with some homework.
