About my college

Overall a good experience with the college management and a happy experience of those well spent 4 years. No such bad moments to memorize about.

Basically the course is taught in a span of 4 years having 8 semesters in total and each semester includes 3 internals before the commencement of semester exams. Well the scores do help you in getting campus placement and helps in future growth. College do plan industrial visits to balasore, jajpur and paradeep to gain the amount of knowledge that is required for an individual to understand with their theoretical knowledge. College do provide campus placement but totally depends upon on the situation or performance that is being obtained after exams. Placement trainings are arranged by hiring guest faculties who come up with their self esteemed experience from industries or corporate world to let the students get go about the scenarios that happens actually in this competitive world.

Campus placement in college is totally dependent on the kind of performance students are giving after semester examination. Even pool campus placement is provided, helping to get job to an individual. College always helps in providing basic documents required for an internship in any organization or sector. I did get a chance to have internship in Indian Railways workshop. As the college always helps in arranging guest faculties for the placement training program which helps people in grasping good knowledge about how things work in this rapidly growing world.

College had many events which includes celebration of foundation day, teachers day and a month long preparation and then several games and cultural activities for the Annual day celebration. College never forget to invite regional and national singers, actors of our entertainment industry. College also invites principals, lectures, VCs of different college & university to be our chief guest. Generally other occasion are of 1 day only but annual day is celebrated for 2 long days, which has first day entertainment from the college student which includes cultural activities, singing, dancing, plays, monoacting and comedy sessions and second day is filled with entertainment by the invited performers from entertainment field.

Fee structure of college is quite feasible as it allows you to pay through cash and cheque both. You can even bring bank drafts in the name of college for depositing your fees. Fees can be deposited for yearly or even whole course fee at a time. College does provide you a receipt mentioning about the fee breakdown to make it very clear to understand about the categories they are charging and how much. Overall a very familiar accounts department.

Scholarship criteria is very much dependent on economic situation of a student and it comes under the state government scheme which is known as Tuition fee waiver scheme and in this scheme, college fee is given by government per semester but it only helps if you are a native of that state. Education loan is a thing that can be availed by submitting certain documents of your personal identification, address and a guarantee who knows you from a long time.

College life is always a memorable life for a student and especially if you are a engineering student, your 4 years are filled with ups and downs which may be in the field of studies, exams, sports, debates, writing competitions and many more. All students were treated equally and not by their caste, creed or gender or the place they belong too. Campus was a raging free campus with several hordings of no raging as it is a punishable crime under law. Labs consisted of required machines, equipments, circuits, devices to make an individual understand with the knowledge of showing practicals and letting student perform. Many debates including English & Hindi, writing competitions were done to check out the best from students.

Hostel are provided and inside college campus only. Rooms of hostel are sharing with a seat of 2 to 3 per room. The last entry time in hostel is restricted to 10PM. Anyone going from hostel to his home or making night out have to seek permission from hostel superintendent by writing an application and once approved, the application has to be submitted at the college main gate and even has to be entered in register maintained by security people to have a track or record of at what time or date you went outside college.

Seniors were always helpful, caring and supportive in whether it would be studies, personal issues or sports. As it was a raging free campus so juniors never had any fear of approaching to seniors but with due respect and modesty. Seniors do approach juniors to join them in their parties, trips and sports.

Admission in the college was done through entrance exam of Odisha board and after counselling I was alloted with this college. Before admission, entrance exams is done and then you have to wait for your ranking and then you have to do online counselling and on behalf of your rank you get a college and if you are not ok with your alloted college, you can cancel it and can again do the counselling but here earlier counselling charges are not refunded.

There were numerous lecturers for different subjects who all have graduated or post graduated in the fields of engineering within an age of between 26 to 53. Everyone was very through with their subjects and were always ready to help their students with doubts or queries. Many of them have gone through industrial experience and they never forget to put their experience while explaining a certain topic to make it more interesting and easy for one to understand and grasp the knowledge at the earliest.
