Remarks

Nothing to mention as such. But maybe more competition could have happened to keep the competitive spirit in students all through the year.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Semester system and did 2 semesters a year and thats 8 semesters in 4 years which was easy compared to one annual exam per year. The staff who taught us were of high caliber and instilled the discipline required to be a successful mechanical engineer. Also students were fun and knowledgeable to work with. I was monitor of the class for 2 years as well.

Placement Experience

4

Was OK. Not so good like premium institutes. However some prominent colleges appeared on our campus and selected a good number of students.

College Events

4

Mechsem a seminar for mechanical engineering for across the colleges in India for mechanical engineering. It was an awesome experience with lot of activities getting. There was great amount of management and it was a great elevating experience wherein we were exposed to whats happening in other colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very feasible. Though it was a private university, it was quiet reasonable. Those days it was always payment in cash at the counter and we did it that way till end of college. Internet was not there even in lab. As told it was a sort of conservative university.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not opt for scholarship and all fees was affordable and fee was never a issue at all. I never went into it and so do not know.

Campus Life

5

Ours was a pure males in our Mechanical Engineering. Sports was very active. abs were routine labs and well equipped but not the latest in electronics or other technologies. It was a conservative set us to say. We were in hostel and we had activities in academic as well as hostelers.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes. It was on shared basis and no option otherwise. Hostel was good and was varying experience year after year according to the different hostels we were allotted. But though water was not an issue, water was not that good for bathing and other purposes.

Alumni/Alumna

Awesome network with people spread all over the world and still counting. They are more in City of Chennai and many entrepreneurs among them. That's speciality of the college.

Admission

My dream was to become a mechanical engineer right from childhood. Have played all my childhood with mechano set which is a machine building toy. So naturally enjoyed studying my favourite subject. Got admitted in college in 1987 July and it was dream come true to be in an Engineering college. Four years passed like a few weeks and had many friends who are still in touch with me and have grown in their own chosen fields.

Faculty

4.5

Excellent, dedicated and very approachable. Also our seniors helped in maneuvering through the maze of subjects and staff. It was a maturing experience in campus. Some staff were old but experienced and some were new and in touch with latest technologies.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
