Remarks

Our college had poor infrastructure at the time when I was in graduation but when I was graduated from the college and a new principal was appointed she revamped the college infrastructure and also installed CCTV cameras for securing purpose so the college has developed alot and Vivek college has been a very positive experience overall so no bad remarks

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Yes, the course and the curriculum even the exam structure was research-driven and fair enough. We had to prepare a black book project of 100 marks which by itself was a subject, we were required to prepare a questionnaire on this project by individually asking questions to bank personnel and note them down. Industrial visit was a part of our curriculum we were taken to Bombay stock exchange for our field visit. The field visit was very informative and a good experience overall. For campus placement banks such as HDFC and Kotak Mahindra had come for recruitment. This course has actually helped me to become a better professional.

Placement Experience

2.5

Companies such as J.P Morgan, Motilal Oswal, and banks such as HDFC, Kotak Bank, Axis Bank were a few of the banks and companies that were part of our college's placement program. The interview process was commenced by a Aptitude test then group discussion and the final round was the personal interview round if the desired candidate has cleared all these rounds then he or she was recruited. Nearly 30 percent of the students were hired by these companies. Our college used to conduct orientation programs and personal development sessions to increase the chance of getting selected in these blue chip companies.

College Events

2.5

Our college conducts thier own festival know as Innovators. It is a one-week festival which includes drama, dance, singing, games, group dance, group singing as well as talent search in which an individual showcase their own talents. We create and print pamphlet and distribute around our college environment and we also approach various brands for sponsorship so that the event can be held in grand scale and in a more innovative way. We contact nearby colleges to enroll in our events and we also invite them as audiences. Overall it is a good experience in which an individual develops various skills which can help the individual in future.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasible and not at all heavy to the pocket it is reasonable, my fee for 3 years of degree program was around 56000. The fee structure had a break up of 14000 yearly in which a student can make the payment in installments in the form of a demand draft. No additional fees are required for securing admission to our course. Yes, our college provided transparency in fee breakdown.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, our college provided a scholarship for students those who were from a low-income household. Students who belonged to SC and ST category were provided with a scholarship facility. Since I'm from the OBC caste no scholarship was provided to me.

Campus Life

2.5

Our college was pretty small so there was no campus space but there was a small area around our college canteen so most of the students used to spend their time in that particular area after their lectures. There were many extracurricular activities in our college such as salad-making competitions, food courts, inter-college events. Sports day was held in the nearby ground.

Alumni/Alumna

Personally, our seniors were very helpful and informative they used to help us in studies, managing events, what career opportunities are thereafter the course is complete. So in short our seniors were very supportive and helpful.

Admission

Firstly, I'll like to mention that I was a student of Vivek college since I have done my juniors at this college and I liked the environment and the campus and one of the major reason I took admission to this college because it was near to my home and it was very convenient for me to travel. I opted for this course because I wanted to work in the bank since my graduate degree is in Banking and Insurance(BBI) so this was the major reason I opted for this course. Steps for acquiring admission in this prestigious institution was fairly easy for me because I was a in house student of this college my name was mentioned in the first merit list. I had to fill in the online form of the college's which I would like to seek my admission in and after that the list was generated virtually of all the college's I applied for and then I had to individually apply in all those colleges by filling the admission form of that particular college. This is how I enrolled myself in Vivek college.

Faculty

4

I don't remember the actual count of lectures but I can say there were around 500 lectures all together in a year the teaching faculty was well qualified and the minimum age of the facilities was between 35 to 45 years. For eg one of our faculty was b.com, m.com, b.ed, mba(education), Net cleared. So pretty much all of the teaching staff was well versed and highly qualified.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.com is not a very comprehensive and complex degree to complete for someone who wants to pursue his/her career in finance. It can be referred as an initial start or push start for one's finance journey over the years. Also the relevance of B.com in real world is gradually decreasing day by day.

From semester 5, you become eligible for final placement and semester 3 for internship placement. many companies like Nykaa, Myntra, Duetsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, Zomato, Beerbiceps and more have visited. the highest package in history is 38 lakh per annum. The average is 8-9 lakh per annum. Around 70% of students get the college placement. My plan is to start my own business after college. I am although doing internships through college. Already done one in Beerbiceps and one in chorus call.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
