Remarks
Only Good remarks because whatever I am today is because of the solid educational foundation which I acquired at an early stage from my first college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum comprised (1) the main subjects (2) native language and (3) English prose and poetry and (4) general science. A well-balanced curriculum which has enabled me to become and work meritoriously as an Officer handling Foreign Exchange Department at the Industrial Finance Branch and in Head Office Treasury in a prestigious Public Sector Bank with overseas branches. I was also posted as the Deputy Manager at one of the foreign Branches of the Bank. Definitely whatever I learned in my School and Colleges has helped me in my career.
Placement Experience
There was no placement in 1970s. Placements were unheard of in colleges and only the Indian Institutes of Managements were doing that.
College Events
Annual day festivals are an elaborate canvas where the students can express their multiple extracurricular and fine arts talents. This helps in overall development of a human being to achieve his/her various capabilities to its full extent. Also, the students used to participate in various state level events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible. The annual fees were only Rs.200/- (Rupees two hundred only) and as such it was understandably quite affordable. It is a Government College and as such the fee was low. Anyhow this was the case in 1970. Now I do not know what is happening.
Fees and Financial Aid
There was no system of scholarships or educational loans at that time. So even if I wanted to avail it it was not possible.
Campus Life
There was no gender discrimination. Students were mainly from both male and female genders and there were substantial number of lady students for arts, science and mathematics courses and less number of female students for Commerce group. But now the situation is different.
Hostel Facilities
I was day-scholar. There was no hostel. There was no need for the hosted as many students were day-scholars. You will appreciate that back then times were quite different and generally people could not afford such expenses.
Alumni/Alumna
I left my college in 1970 after passing the Pre-Degree went to another state, joined the Bank and completed the graduation - BCom. Hence no network of old college-mates.
Admission
Application for admission to be submitted-applicants are shortlisted and called for an interview-thereafter based on the marks secured in 10th and interview another list is prepared of the selected candidates for admission. Another list is prepared of finally selected candidates depending upon the capacity.
Faculty
Excellent. It is full-time classes Monday-thru Friday. The faculties are Post Graduates in their respective subjects who are selected by the State Public Service Commission. Many of them pursue research-based doctoral (PhD) courses. In short, faculty is competent and they deliver quality lectures.
