Entrance Preview

Just the normal State board examination.Had no entrance tests at our time .I got 187 cutoff out of 200.Choosed this college as this was near to my house and my brother also studied in the same college and was the best in Trichy at that time under Anna University.

Placement Experience

During my time(Year 2010) Infosys and Hcl came. We have a good long standing relationship with Infosys. There were few other companies as well. They make arrangements and take us out of campus interviews aswell.

College Events

Cultural - I am not sure they do now. During my time they never had cultural festivals.There will be Technical events and games and they send us out for other events except Dance.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not sure of this. Scholarship was being provided to the most bright students but i am not sure.

Hostel Facilities

Mess food is average. Hostel is good. Boys hostel is within the college not sure about the Girls hostel whether they have started one inside. Till 2011 girls were made to stay in private hostels in 3.5 km distance.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni is not that great. But friends do the get togethers on their own. There will be alumni meet and i am not sure how many attend those. There will be alumni meet and i am not sure how many attend those.

Faculty

They were really extremely good faculty and few bad aswell. Overall it was an above average faculty.I was really awe inspired by few of them. Of course u also have to meet the worst and bad without them ur college life.

A review about Saranathan College of Engineering by a student

i've applied to Ramakrishna,SRM trichy,CARE,kings and stjoseph engineering colleges along with saranathan college of engineering. comparing with other colleges, SCE has an outstanding teaching and it holds the rank of top 10 engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu.so i choose this college. everything is based on your cut-off ((physics,chemistry and maths) marks/2) in the 12th grade and JEE marks. based on these marks, you can choose the departments. if you have cut off mark above 185 you can get into CSE above 170 for ECE and etc...Read More
