Remarks

It is very good college where students are given freedom and it's up to the students how they use it. College management is very friendly and approachable.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As I chose mechanical engineering, I was groomed with sufficient Industrial knowledge. Many Industrial visits were organised by my college, but however there were not many on-campus placements opportunities for mechanical stream. I got an on-campus placement in an IT firm.

Placement Experience

4

The on-campus placements opportunities in my college was good. Not much offers and opportunities in the mechanical core field. In the IT domain as many as 50 students including me were placed in TCS.

College Events

3.5

We have a technical symposium event for every department in our college. For symposium students from other colleges are allowed to participate. We conduct cultural events annually and also events for freshers induction, sports day and Farewell parties which are internal events and only our college students can participate.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The education fee per year was 40000. The fees for value added courses and placement training was 20000. In addition if you opt for college transport or college provided hostel you need to pay that fee also. Food will be provided for hostel students and others have to make their own arrangements.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I did not opt for any scholarship or education loan. I also don't think my college offers scholarship to students based on merit.

Campus Life

4

Our campus was beautiful place. We were given lot of freedom unlike many other colleges. Equal number of boys and girls were in the campus. Our campus had a basket ball court which we can use anytime and sports day was conducted annually and the best department will be crowned. We were also encouraged to participate in other college technical as well as cultural events.

Alumni/Alumna

We have alumni meet up regularly. And also alumni portal has been set by our college so we can keep in touch and connect with people in various fields.

Admission

I choose B.E Mechanical Engineering in SRM Easwari Engineering College. I had intrest in mechanical industry so I chose mechanical branch at that time. Admission was through Anna University councelling. But there is also an option where we can join by taking a separate entrance exam.

Faculty

3.5

My department lecturers were very friendly and approachable. Our HOD and my senior professors had doctorate degrees in automobile and industrial engineering. And other assistant professors were mix of experienced as well as fresh to teaching profession. Some had Industry experience too and helped us with contacts in our field.

There is no relevance with the current industry standards and also i chose this course as i saw potential for development and research in this field with the rapid innovation in the AI field. There is a lot of room for improvement like teaching the current industry practices and it's basics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well designed and covered both fundamental and advanced concepts. We choose elective papers each sem one paper from third sem. That selection of elective papers made us to do case study of real world exposure and competency. The curriculum prepared us for the reasonable real world applications. Also workshops and internships bridged the gap between industry expectations and academics. The teaching methods are really supportive and knowledgeable. On the whole the curriculum was strong and but needs to be imapctful.
