Remarks

On the positive side we have good faculty, good infrastructure and really good placements. On the negative side the fees is high. Also we're asked for money for organizing all the events which feels like a lot more is going out from our pockets than we signed up for. We are even asked to bring our own A4 sheets for the class tests which is really annoying since we feel like our college doesn't even want to provide us with paper to write our answers on.

Entrance Preview

Since my college is Anna University affiliated I chose Easwari Engineering College through the Tamil Nadu Counselling. I had a score of 96.4% in my 12th standard board examinations with a cutoff of 194.75. I chose EEC because unlike most colleges it lies within the city. It had also been ranked as one of the top colleges when I had joined. I didn't have to travel for hours everyday and that proved to be a major benefit. Also I learned from seniors that it wasn't as strict as most of the colleges. Haveing worked really hard to get into a good college from my 10th standard I didn't want my college experience to be ruined by unreasonable rules. Easwari had good faculty a good education system and also offered a fun studying experience. So when I got the opportunity to study here I took it.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

My curriculum is devised by Anna University and I can honestly say that they have been doing a good job. There's always a balance between our subjects. There has never been a semester in which all the subjects are tough. As far as the subjects and the syllabus are concerned I think it's really good too. For instance we have a subject called Computer Architecture in the 2nd semester. In the 4th semester we have Advanced Computer Architecture. Most of our subjects are organized this way and that helps us start with the basics. Also we are given a number of electives to choose from. The staff take time to explain all the subjects in detail the syllabus what it will teach us and how interesting it will be.That gives us an idea to choose. Instead of making a blind decision based on what our friends or seniors choose the college makes sure we take an informed decision.

Internships Opportunities

Our college doesn't offer internships. But we're announced everytime there's an opening somewhere so that we can go and apply individually if we are interested.

Placement Experience

5

Tata Consultancy took around 500 students and offered a package of 3.14 lakhs pa. We usually have 90% placements. Other companies that visited our campus are Zoho Wipro,L&T,Infotech Excelacom Market Simplified and many others. Companies like Flipkart,Amazon are yet to visit.

College Events

3

Swagath The Freshers' Welcoming Party where various talent hunts are held and the winners are titled Mr. and Ms. Swagath. All the first years are requested to participate. Talentia The intracollege cultural competition. Symposiums each department conducts its own symposiums. The Department of CSE organizes its symposium called "Kratos" every year. Sports Day Football, basketball, volleyball, tennis matches are held and the winning teams are awarded their prizes on Sports Day. Farewell,Rotaract events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's a little bit more expensive than what the other colleges are getting. We are charged around 1 lakh every year.Placement and Training,Value Added Courses together are about Rs 20,000. The tuition fee is Rs 40,000-20,000. Bus fees is Rs 19,000.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are offered to the students with a low financial background or talent in sports. Scholarships can be availed every year by the students who are eligible.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life has been amazing. We are not discriminated based on any factor. Everyone is given the same opportunities irrespective of the gender, academic performance, caste or economic status. All the students are treated equally and there's no partiality. Workshops are organized frequently by the college and those who are interested can sign up and attend the workshops. There is always some event or the other going on in the auditorium everyday. Ragging is considered as a serious offense and is monitored all the time. Extracurricular activities are also given a lot of importance. Dancers are given ODs to practice for upcoming competitions. Rangoli competitions, cooking competition and a variety of off stage events are also held. The Rotaract club of our college also organises a variety of events with a drama called Mask, being the highlight. The profits are given as charity.

Hostel Facilities

3

I'm a day scholar but I've heard that the food is average in the hostel. Though it's not up to the price being charged it's manageable. The rooms are clean and taken care of frequently.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors couldn't have been better. We are forced to work under them for our symposium and only then do we come to know how good they all are. They teach us how things work around in college the hacks the guidance on what to do next. It's like this never ending torch of light keeps getting passed on to the juniors every time the seniors leave. Organizing farewell for the seniors is a job we took privilege in doing. We always made sure we made their farewell as perfect and as memorable as can be. The seniors still stay in touch through social networking websites like Facebook because our bonds go beyond the walls of the college.

Exam Structure

There's a small 1 hour test every morning. Then there are 2 cycle tests in a semester followed by a model examination. The labs are conducted according to the number of hours allotted by Anna University and model lab exams are conducted prior to the semester examination. The everyday tests are a little hectic but it usually proves to be useful during the exam preparation.

Faculty

4.5

Most of the faculty in my college are amazing. Some are average. Some of the old professors still take time out of their busy schedule to teach us stuff out of the syllabus. This particular ma'am called Mrs. Mercy explains each and every concept thrice so that even the slow learners understand perfectly. The teachers are encouraging and supportive. We have these feedback sessions every 2 months where we'd rate the staff according to their performance. Incase a teacher gets a bad rating from all the students in the class, the college replaces the teacher with a new one in order to make our learning experience better.
