Remarks

According to me, living in good surroundings having good friend working on right path is very important to get successful in life. Also the college provides various platforms where one can explore his or her knowledge or talent.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As the Institute is affiliated to AICTE and UGC thus it follows the syllabus designed by the Technical organization. It follows CBCS which is Choice Based Credit System in which the students chooses the subject of their choice and study but the minimum student in each subject is 20. It covers wide varieties of Theory and Practice subjects which are fought in class and some subjects are fought in the lab. Some workshop subjects are also provided in which hands on practice is done. Their is good infrastructure and machines for mechanical branch so we did not faced any problem in thsese subjects.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement system has improved from the last two years as new CEO of our university is very hard-working. The various companies which has visited our campus are : Dassault Systems Byju TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Capgimini, Cognigent, Toppr, Jaro Education, Teleperformance, Illumanti Group and many other pharma based company. The college also provides placement training programs for final and prefinal year students of different streams as well.

College Events

3.5

The various CSR activities are organized in the college time to time. Also intercollege Or University match is organized. The Annual Techno Management Fest is organized every year in the campus in which the students from various branches and strams participate and show their talent.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee Structure of the college is not much feasible. They are very strict about fees. They regularly send emails regarding fees. Many students in my branch has left the college due to financial problem as the college management system was not supportimg them. They also charge verious types of fine which may not be tolerated. The university is very strict against fine penalties.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, I have taken educational loan under the Scheme of Bihar Student Credit card offered by government of our state which is Bihar. The various scholarship was provided by the government of odisha for the domicile of odia students. Their is a special Administration Office which do all the official processes regarding scholarship schemes for different state students.

Campus Life

4

As far as I am concerned approx 30% of total students are girls and rest 70% are boys. Their are two parks aur gardens made for students to celebrate any birthday parties also their is separate lab for each workshop. All students are treated equally under the eye of management. Their is strict action and cases or fines for sexual harassment cases.

Hostel Facilities

3

In first year of my B.Tech I have opted hostel. In the first year I,e 2016 they were providing only two times food only lunch and dinner in a day and the breakfast they were not providing and quality of food was also not good, I have also faced health issues several times in the first year. After that I decided to shift outside by making a group of 4 students and took a 2 bhk flat and shifted their and then continued my study.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumini Network is good as most of the seniors are working in good companies and standing on their legs. Most of the seniors cooperate very well and motivates juniors about the study and different curricular activities.

Admission

After passing out 10th I have chosen Science and started my preparation for board as well as competitive examination. After that I have given Jee Main and qualified the exam but my marks was average. One day I have gone through the National Institute Ranking Forum site and checked the list of top 100 colleges and I found in the top 100 list. After that I have decided to visit odisha after doing the counselling based on my jee marks. After coming to odisha, Bhubaneswar I visited various colleges but I did not found any good college for mechanical branch having good infrastructure and industry training partner. When I visited this college here infrastructure related to mechanical branch was good. After that I contacted with the admission cell and booked the seat by paying 10000 ruppes and all the documentary process.

Faculty

3

Their are various Professors -3, Assistant Professors-13, Lab Technician-4, Lab Assistant -3 in my branch which is Mechanical Engineering. The professors are PHD with the highest qualification and years of experience, Assistant Professors are M.tech with the prerequisite teaching experience.Lab Technician are either Diploma holders or ITI certified. The professors are very good and talented in their respective subjects which is my personal experience and some Assistant Professors are good in knowledge.

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
