Remarks

The college management emphasises on overall development of the students, and very supportive of students. It's a good college with good infrastructure and great atmosphere.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

There are 5 years in the course with 4 years of academic training along with practical knowledge. The first 4 years will have exams at the end of the years to test the level of knowledge attained at the end of each year and then in the 5th year there's a compulsory rotatary internship, where you get trained in the treatment techniques of dentistry. Since this is a service driven sector, there won't be any campus placements in India for dental and medical fields.

Placement Experience

4.5

There are more than 100 companies that visit for placements. Highest package is around 32 lacks. Companies like hrC provided 1500+ STUDENTS internship in year 2019- 2020 with a stipend. The college numerous opportunity in this matter.

College Events

5

There are events and fests all around the year in the college, which will have cultural activities, competitions to win prizes and house wise competitions for college champions. And they also host CDE programs ( continuous dental education) for learning novel techniques. Students and alumni from other colleges come and participate in these programs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For A category Students - tuition fee is 10,000 For B category studnets - tuition fee is 1,50,000 For C category Students - Tuition fee is 5,50,000. Hostel fee is 60,000( which varies every year ) Miscellaneous fee and other fee come around 25000 The college accepts fee in cash, cheques or cards which must be done through the bank account. There's a certain level of transparency in the fee breakdown There are no additional charges or fees for securing a seat for A category or B category Students but for C category Students(management quota) the fee and additional charges depends on the demand for the seats.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarships offered for the three toppers per semester. The first topper receives 7000/month for a period of 6 months, second topper gets 6000/month and third topper 5000/month. Every time the topper is evaluated based on current sem.

Campus Life

3.5

There's female predominance in the college with 4 females for 1 male. Since it's a missionary college, discipline is of utmost importance so no parties are allowed. Workshops are held every now and then to groom students. There is a wide student diversity with students from all over the state and students from different religious, social backgrounds study together. There are many students who's come from Kerala and Arunachal Pradesh too who come and study here. There are many cultural competitions like essay writing, debates, elocution and stuff every year.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes, I've stayed in the hostel for five years, the hostel rooms are decent with good food(the fee is inclusive of hostel fee). There are single rooms and sharing rooms and Ac and Non AC rooms based on the fee. There are few PGs in the city in a distance of 5kms from the college, with a fee of around 5000 per month with sharing room and food.

Alumni/Alumna

There's a group called SJDC alumni association where elections are held to elect president, vice president and treasurer. I have good rapport with the seniors and alumni and it's a ragging free campus.

Admission

There are generally 3 categories for admissions. The A category seats in which the top rankers get admission for nominal fee and then the B category seats where the next rankers after top rankers will seat with a higher fee. Both of these category admissions happen in the university counselling, where they call you when your rank comes up and give you the list of colleges you are eligible and you can opt the college of your choice. There is another category called management quota where non rankers can get a seat but costs huge money, this process happens within the college. All the students who want to join the course must write the entrance exam.

Faculty

4

There are around 60 lecturers in the college. Senior lecturers with an average age of 30 years, assistant professors with an average age of 35 years and professors with an average age of 40 years. They all have the same qualification but the promotion happens with experience and research papers published. Some of them have private dental practices which will help them to teach the students with techniques and advanced developments in the field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It doesn't influence me in any manner. But has a very good applications in real world, where it teaches about the oral hygiene and things about the oral health of an individual. It needs to be understand the concept and not in a rush manner. Nd also not by reading just the ppt. They can improve it by giving examples in a video manner, in which it is applicable. The frequency is needed to reduce and the syllabus needed to be reduced as per the students capabilities.
