Remarks

Good - nice faculty, curriculum, studies, ambienceBad - locality is very far, outer corner of Delhi. IT makes commuting tougher.

Entrance Preview

Indraprastha University's Entrance Exams for journalism and mass communication. It contains reasoning, basic math, GK and english grammar.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

There are total 6 semesters (3 years degree course). Each semester has atleast 5 subjects. There are various subjects like photography, radio journalism, printing media, mass communication, Indian economy, public relations, etc. Every subject helps in growing your knowledge and general awareness.

Internships Opportunities

Each student has to go through 2 yearly internships - in print media, and electronics media (news channel). Both of the time my faculty helped me in getting internship in Zeenews and Dibyabharat.

Placement Experience

2

There is campus placement, but it is not of much use. I got better jobs without college placement. This course provides a wide range of career choices depending on your interest and expertise.

College Events

3.5

Apart from various small events, I.P is known for its annual fest. Earlier it used to be held in kashmere gate (I.P's old university) but, now it happens in Dwaraka (new university). You can dance, participate in unlimited competitions, be a part of organising deptt, enjoy fest and meals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee can be paid annually altogether or in 2 instalments. In my time, I paid 40k every year (for 3 years). Now fees has been increased. Manage is cooperative in fee payment, few days delay is negligible. It is expensive though if compared to infrastructure and facilities.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, they have their scholarship program for bright students. But I don't have its complete knowledge.

Campus Life

2.5

I.P organizes many indoor and outdoor events for students. They also hold an annual sports event for students. About campus life, as I.P colleges are not so expanded in infrastructure, there is not much you can enjoy inside. We used to hangout in janakpuri or C.P. because there are no good options in dwaraka.

Hostel Facilities

2

There was no hostel till the time I was there. Don't know about now. As everybody in our batch was a Delhiite, I am unaware of hostel. Few students used to live on rent in dwaraka.

Alumni/Alumna

Our seniors were very supportive and helpful. It was so easy to stay in touch with them and ask for their advice. I am still in touch with my seniors.

Exam Structure

There are 2 internals (held in college itself) and 1 external every semester. Total marks of internals and externals are considered to judge your performance. And it also has Viva. You will have to get atleast 50 marks in each subject to pass.

Faculty

3.5

TIPS has wonderful experienced faculty. They are very cooperative and friendly and believe in teaching thruogh examples and experiences. My personal favourite was Ruchi and Shefali ma'am.

The college has really more to do with its placement cell because students are not getting opportunities as they expect. The companies which come for placement drive are from limited domains and they also offer very normal package.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is functional and active. The chances depend on the course that you have opted for. The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.
