Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum gives out a very detailed approach to the subject Biotechnology. Besides just biology, it also deals with various technical stuff like computer applications and the technology involved in it. There are mid semesters and then the main semesters. Labs are there too in each semester.

Placement Experience

Placements here are guaranteed unless you want to do explore the field more and take up some research work, companies like GSK recruit from here. We can also do internships with some well-known companies if interested.

College Events

Our college organizes a cultural fest called the KIIT fest, there are other departments oriented fests also happen on an annual basis. Apart from these, we celebrate all the festivals namely Holi, Lohri, Pongal and Bihu.

Fee Structure And Facilities

One thing that is a little bit of a drawback is the fee structure but there are scholarships and student loans which make it a little easier. The fee structure is Rs. 1.5 Lakhs per semester we have a total of 10 semesters. Hostels cost up to Rs. 37 thousand depending upon the room you select.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are both international and national institutes that provide scholarships to the students with good rankings in the entrance exam and to those who have managed to maintain a good academic record throughout their exams.

Campus Life

Our college, as many might know, is famous for its sports fest, with games like football, cricket and basketball it is a very great arena for sports freaks. We have a gym to work out, with all the necessary equipment. The female ratio is more than men in this college. No discrimination is done against anybody based on gender, caste or religion.

Admission

The application is to be filled online only also the fee payment is done online. There is an entrance exam to be attended, if selected in that you will be called for an counselling which for which you will be arranged according to your rank obtained in the exam.

Faculty

The faculties are extremely talented and qualified to handle this professional course. They have many years of experience in the field of teaching. Our professor K K Jena is working on a project called the "Golden rice project" which is very inspiring, our faculties encourage us to take up such work.

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Likes

Beautiful campus with lot's of space and with good computer labs
They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Need to improve administrative building while submitting fees many students face problem
Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Have collabs with IBM, Samsung, Capgemini for RnD and NUS singapore , University of North Texas
Our college has hosted International Conferences like IEEE InGAARS 2025and Indocrypt 2025, where scientists had came from NASA, ISRO, all IITs, Foreign Universities, etc
Exposure is Good. The teachers here put efforts to teach and research. Unlike other colleges where teachers comes and roll out PPTs, here every teacher teaches on Board explaining everything properly

Dislikes

Few teachers speak in Odia accent, so it takes couple weeks to adjust
Campus is kind of small (36acres), but its good area for a IIIT, considering IIIT delhi is just 25 acres
3 occupancy hostels for 1st years (same goes for any other NIT/IIIT), but they have a option of single rooms from 2nd year

Placement Experience:

from 6th sem, students are eligible almost 100 companies visited including IBM, VISA, Infosys, DE Shaw etc. Highest is 63 LPA and avg is 12-13LPA 90% placements I may consider doing MBA if I dont get very big package

Likes

Things I like is to good faculty, garden.
VSSUT provides the best amenities and bathrooms.
Excluding hostel & other facilities are like good.

Dislikes

The water quality is not good at all from mess side.
The drainage system is not maintained well.
The surroundings are not clean and the guarda are strict.

Placement Experience:

Some say that the celllege has better placements, but that the salary is not very lucrative. Infosys, Tata Steel, IBM, Wipro, Cisco Systems, Larsen and Cognizant, Maruti Suzuki, Adani Group. My plans are to go to better iim for mba

The professor who taught in our class they are taught is best In teaching.
They provide you many opportunities to work upon on you.
The infrastructure of college is good and huge.

Dislikes

The campus is very vast, and you have to walk for every minute of work.
The are very serious about your study and what you are doing
The gate get closed if you get came late even it's 5-10 minute late.

Placement Experience:

It's good as many company come but the placement directly depend on your study and hard work of your 4 year and a pre placement also conduct in 3rd year where you can also get placed. For placement the student should secure 8-10 cgpa for sit in interview exam.

The world of Biotech in KSBT

You are eligible for the course if you have had biology in your 12th examination and you have cleared them successfully. The application form can be found on KIIT's website and the fees were around Rs. 1000 when I took the exam and the application dates are usually right after the end of board examinations. The frequency and timing of the exams were one exam in the morning during our time but now it might have increased to two entrance exams and the one you perform better in is considered for admission. You have to give KITEE entrance exam first. From December they open a portal for the entrance exam form fillup, then after giving the exam according to percentile grade you can get a chance for counselling, there are phases 1,2 exams accordingly....Read More
