Remarks
The good bad and ugly mostly brand name works good urban crowd exposure today's competition in the world is mostly where the money lies so you know how to handle the high and urban posh culture at the job. This means you can easily gel with any one from the local bania wala to the next door CEO. Too costly for a media course media course best works if you have real hands on experience, else the trainers must be from industry and put the students in a real media world experience but unfortunately not possible in today's exam oriented education system less pressure Compared to good old colleges, you will less pressure from the lecturers for assignments otherwise a pretty above normal college where you can make the most if you ask the management.
Entrance Preview
Got through PGCET got 4th Rank, but now you have to get through Jain university test. Best premium college - you get exposed to the top crowd, top industry, top facilities. But again you need to ask for it and look for it or else you will just end using the top cafeteria instead good infrastructure good alumni like robin uthappa, manish pandey, actor prajwal to name a few in heart of the city, very near to hotels, media houses, other colleges, good transport facility, good parking.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum as prescribed by bangalore university covered print includes history of paper, magazines, journals. Radio, again includes history to current FM stations electronic media focuses on your TV. new media gives exposure on internet, blogs, twitterati etc.
Internships Opportunities
Absolutely no internship help provided, Had to manage to through personal contacts. For a college with such reputation and high fees, internship should have been provided at least for students who were genuinely interested otherwise they just give you letter and you have to look for yourself.
Placement Experience
Very poor just got some BPO companies and small companies which neither had learning curve nor gave a good job opportunity.
College Events
Inter college media fest lots of film shows some small competitions in the class as it is media course, you will have lots of activity be sure to join the toastmasters absolutely free and great to make yourself a good orator.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Paid 14,000 per annum for joining through merit quota management quota fee is around 2 lakhs p.a. now it must surely costly and not sure if people get through merit quota, though they have entrance exam entrance exam is very easy as its a media course but you have to jack of all you should anything from films to life sciences to politics to share markets to international topics.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship offered by govt of Karnataka if claimed through caste quota loan facility offered by most private banks but only be sure to take if you know how to get a good job in the future. Don't blindly take a loan and hope your future is secure by doing this course or even by scoring good marks. You have to know what talent you have and how you will make a good career in you life remember this is a media course.
Campus Life
Not much, you have to take initiative. You need to have a good group as well. The crowd is the same everywhere. Its up to how you make of what you have including lecturers, facility one good thing is since this is a private college, you can ask the management to give what you want, provided you show how it benefits the students.
Hostel Facilities
Food is good and reasonable rate.Hostel facilities, good timely transport from college to hostel heard bit of ragging is there at hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni and senior students, mostly are from rich class. So dont bother too much about learning, But at the same you get some really rare top of the line talented students (which is there in any class). But probably one of the best alumni network but again you have to be active and make sure to be a part of every alumni meet and get contacts and hope someone comes good and help you.
Exam Structure
As per bangalore university with some updations as they are a deemed university you can expect some really new things to learn like may be animation, etc suiting today's jobs in media field.
Faculty
Faculty the oretically the lecturers are good less industry exposure but not up to the mark in terms of nurturing students less activities no learning curve between students and lecturers.
