Optometry College in Hyderabad

The course is designed well and involves both practical and theoretical approach. Since the course requires one to go through hands on practice labs are given quite importance along with the theoritical classes. The exams are held in a semester wise manner. Short term exam or internals are held from time to time to asses our grasping of the concepts.

Talking of placement I can say that one can get placed in our institute's eye clinics. The college has eye clinics/hospitals in Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar etc were students can get placed. Internship is offered in house at the institutes own eye hospital. The internship provides exposure to the clinical methods of optometry and application of basic principles.

Since the course is of 1 year duration you have to pay fee one time during admission. I submitted 1.6 lakhs during the admission. The fee is to be paid after confirmation of admission. One can also pay the fee through education loan facility.

Education loan facility can be easily availed by students. Though I myself didn't apply for loan many of my colleagues availed education loan. Scholarships are also available for meritorious students. One can avail the benefits of state government and central government run scholarship scheme. Certain philanthropic trust also offer scholarships.

Nothing in terms of extra-curricular activities is at offer. Labs are well equipped with all the facilities. Classrooms are as per standard. Workshops and camps are organised by college from time to time. Eye check up camps are great for learning and having some fun.

I got admission based on merit. I applied for Diploma in Optometry course and then went through a college based evaluation test. Faced an interview and was then allotted the seat. I applied for the institute as it is one of the oldest and reputed eye institute. It offers the best quality education in the domain of optometry.

Faculty at our college is professional and experienced. Most of the teachers are practicing optometrist, eye specialist that are serving in the institute's eye center from years. Their way of explaining things is quite good. The focus is on imparting education through practice based learning. Even after the class the teachers are always ready to guide us.
