Remarks
The college is good but requires some improvements to be done in many critical fields. the faculty are good, but not exactly resourceful, but is a good enough college if you don't have much options
Course Curriculum Overview
As the title of my review says, the curriculum (JNTUK R-16) is just good enough, the learning imparted from the curriculum is hardly any useful for industry placement. Not much of industrial knowledge could be imparted from the curriculum, most who got placements were needed to be trained before landing in the actual job No the curriculum is rarely research driven, only makes us slightly professional. Industry visits are rare, but when they do happen, they are good
Placement Experience
I can't really remember all the companies the came in campus placements, but I'm certain they are really a few ones that most can recognise. Only a few of them are core companies (i.e. Jobs related to course studied), but the rest are the ones in service sector (call center, etc) with some placements in other states, but salaries are hardly good, most who got the placement end up in spending their own money (money from home) to even stay in the job locations (so that they could gain some job experience. The college management collects Rs.10000 from each student for placement. The principal always keeps insisting students into pursuing skill training and internships Last time many went for govt. Based Internship and it went well
College Events
Mechanical fest Farewell events Dussehoura sambharalu Mechatronics fest ICMSE hostel fest Freshers Women's day celebrations etc There are many events being celebrated all along the year in the campus and almost all of them are staged and performed in the campus itself (in the college ground/seminar hall). Almost all of the expenses for every one of these events are collected from the students (weather they participate or not) these events alone would cost us about 2000~3000 per head per year. Students would be given permission to practice and organize for these events and relative freedom is given to students on the execution of the event. Food at these events is usually below average.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible. The basic tution fee is about Rs.35000, JNTUK fees&exam fees extra (Rs.2500&Rs.800 respectively) Cash is accepted. Online &Card payments are hardly used, sometimes Card payment are accepted but additional charge is levied (~1%). As far as i know there's no admission fee. There is very little fee breakdown provided, even condonation (Rs.500-Rs.10000 non-bargainable)is collected without any receipt.
Fees and Financial Aid
I, just like most of the students of my college study on state scholarship(of about 35000) it covers the tuition fee. So, what we students mostly have to pay is Rs.2500 per semester (JNTUK fees),exam fees, hostel & mess fee seperately. The criteria for the scholarship is low income and backward caste certification. Any white ration Card Holder could avail the scholarship, but nowadays there are some complications, but consulting the reception would give you a clarity.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is mostly negative. But particularly low in Mechanical engineering 10:1. There are no dorm room parties. Workshops are regularly conducted and they are mostly good and productive A large part of students are from a tribe society There is a good amount of diversity within the students as many come from very diverse walks of life and cultures. Thankfully, there is no intolerance regarding gender, ethnicity, race, religion, politics and economic status. There were no such feeling/issues amongst the students regarding these. Raging is strictly condemned and any such activity results in depar or other such overly stricter response from the management.
Hostel Facilities
No, but i occasionally go into them They were just large godown like rooms with bunk beds, they are just good enough. Most stay in an apartment complex (govt. Provided housing)right beside the college for small rent, while some stay in other normal apartments
Alumni/Alumna
The principal has some good connections and he brings various resource persons and they were very helpful. The alumni network is good, senior students are really helpful, recently our senior pursued an design software course and got a good placement in an MNC abroad, he came and explained about importance of pursuing a career in computer designing field, is been very helpful.
Admission
I had a change of mind on what i wanted to study, so i went on to choose this college as it is in our locality. My neighbour is an employee in the college, so, i got admission thourough him. Admission process is simple and easy, everyone tries to get you admitted thourough them as they would receive upto Rs.10,000 per admission.
Faculty
Most faculty are just good enough. There are some experienced faculty but what they mostly have is years of experience rather than much subject. Half of the faculty were new to the profession, but, they try to do their best in teaching the students, gathering information, but to say they are not very knowledgeable. Average age of the faculty is like 35 years. Most were M.Tech graduates, some pursuing PhDs. Most could only provide moderate insight into the subjects they were teaching. As for is i know there weren't many faculty having significant industry experience for the subject they were teaching.
