Remarks
The adminstration of Srishti can actually improve. Another good thing about Srishti will the wellness team. We have proper experienced people here with whom we can share our educational or personal problems and stress. All of this is confidential information and doesn't go out. We are supposed to call our facilitators by their first name only, no Sir or Ma'am. This actually promotes professional behaviour.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are multiple courses offered to us according to our Majors. Most of the courses are very interesting and intriguing. The classes should live up to their briefs provided to the students in the beginning (they usually do). Although, the work load is a lot, but if one is genuinely interested in designing, he/she will enjoy the work. The exams are comparatively more relaxing since for the studio classes the work done on daily basis is a lot (both, in class and at home), whereas during the exam since one can work only during college hours so it's not too much work. The exam is divided into thouree tasks which are Research, Ideation and Creation, followed by a Jury. Exams are a good time for brainstorming, since the set of questions has no set format.
Placement Experience
Srishti doesn't provide on campus placement. Although according to the past record, mostly all sristhi students get good jobs, usually at the firm they are interning with in the 3rd year.
College Events
There are no inter-college events held by Srishti. There are session and talks organised within the college for students regarding relevant topics. We usually have theses talks on Saturday which is a holiday for students so that the classes aren't missed.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees increases thouroughout the 4 years. Although the average would be 5 lakhs per annum. It is a bit expensive, since accomodation isn't included. I have been paying using online payment method at the beginning of the academic year, for which there's an online receipt available.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
College doesn't offer any such thing as far as I know. I haven't opted for any scholarships or opportunity provided by the college.
Campus Life
Srishti doesn't have a campus in one space. It's spread in Yelahanka. There are 6 different campuses, N1, N3, N4, N5, N6 and Old campus. The workshop campus is very good. The gender ratio is 65:35 (girls to boys). There are a few student bodies formed in the colleges for dance, theatre etc. The college offers an exchange program too. The college is very open minded and there isn't any seen or unseen discrimination.
Hostel Facilities
There are no hostels available. There are PGs available which are affiliated with the college and are usually within the radius of 1. 5km from the campus. The monthly rent for a room varies from 13, 000 to 20, 000. It is a bit expensive so students usually move out in a few years and take a flat.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior students or alumni are usually helpful regarding any doubts you have with regarding your major or the future opportunities.
Admission
Srishti is one of the best design colleges in India. The entrance exam form came on their website in February and the exam was in April. There are thouree tasks in the exam. First is a written exam for mental ability and general knowledge of art. Second task was a very interesting drawing/ creative task. The third task was a group discussion followed by individual outcome. Srishti's entrance exam was one of the most interesting exam I gave for my college entrances.
Faculty
Most of the faculty of Srishti is really good. Although there are a few faculty who do not know how to impart their knowledge. All the facilities here has good experience in their fields though. On the other hand, the administration of Srishti is very weak.
