Remarks

The overall opinion is that the college could have done a whole lot better considering the fees they take. Wish they were more approachable and improved their education methods.

Course Curriculum Overview

1

It is unfair. We are made to do unnecessary assignments. The teachers barely teach us. Copying data from the book to the blackboard is the teaching we obtain. I don’t see how the method of education is going to benefit us at our area of work in the future.

Placement Experience

0.5

No placements specific for PharmD. There are placements for Bpharm and DPharm students which we are allowed to be a part of. Most of students opt to find jobs on their own.

College Events

0.5

Essay and poster presentation competitions. Cultural and sports events for a week. Inaugural and farewell program. Ethnic day along with alumini meet. The participation is poor as the effort put in is minimum. It’s an every year plead to conduct this by the seniors.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Expensive. They accept Demand Drafts and online transfer. I didn’t have to pay donation as I came through the entrance exam, but they do accept donations for the rest. They accept a charge apart from the standard CET fee which is accounted as clinical charge.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have no scholarships as I am General Merit, but there are scholarships for students under other categories like SCST, OBC etc

Campus Life

0.5

There are more females than males in my class. We had one workshop conducted in my 4 years of college. Mostly people from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and the North East. Most of the students are well off. No parties conducted. No exposure and diversity is limited.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

No. I stay at home. We had a case of finding a rat in the food from the Girls hostel. The hygiene is terrible and nobody does anything about it. The washroom I’ve heard is bad. All the elevators don’t work making it inconvenient for students staying at the 9th floor.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors help with the notes. They don’t have a great opinion of the college either. Nobody says anything because of the possibility of damaging our chances of graduating.

Admission

I got this course and college through my kCET (Karnataka entrance test) rank. Got this college based on my priority opted and I obtained this college at the first round. I was thrilled to get that fresh start and looked forward to doing really well.

Faculty

0.5

Terrible. No interest in motivating the students whatsoever. I have 6 theory subject teachers and 4 practical subjects. A total of 6 teachers handle this. We have young teachers below the age of 40. There are teachers who have done their phD but most of them have completed their mPharm or PharmD to the most.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen Doctor Of Pharmacy, and it is a medicine based profession. We learn to deal with patients and counsel them with regards to their health. From 2nd year onwards we are assigned hospital visits which improves are communication skills, confidence, knowledge and much more. Students should really get stipend during internships which helps a lot of students not only financially but also it motivates them to work harder. Also they should teach and prepare us for competitive exams which will boost our career. We write 3 sessional exams, each of 30 marks which are internal marks, and a final exam of 70 marks, in both theory and practical. The exam difficulty depends on how well the students study.
