Khallikote College Review

The college is one of the best ones available in the locality and surely would help the students to develop themselves.But one negative thing I would like to post about this college is the lack of availability of ample number of teachers,as a result of which it has become difficult for the existing ones to manage.

It is a two year course. It is semester based and follows a CBCS pattern. The college conducts internal exams in the 1st and 3rd semesters while there are no internal exams in 2nd and 4th semester the students are required to give a PowerPoint presentation based on their syllabus. It gives a widespread exposure to the students to the corporate sector and also gives them an opportunity to enhance their communication skills.

The college arranges campus drives regularly on an yearly basis.A lot of companies like Concentrix, Genpact and Tech Mahindra have already visited our College.The companies basically conduct a lot of rounds to know the calibre of the students starting from knowing their conceptual skills to identifying their communication skills.

The college celebrates a lot of activities starting from cultural activities like annual function, farewell, fresher's party to puja activities like Ganesh puja, Saraswati Puja just to name a few. It gives the students an opportunity to showcase their hidden talents.

The fee structure is quite feasible. There is a Bank attached to this college where the student is required to deposit the fees.It is Rs4000/- per semester thereby making it Rs8000/- p.a.In addition to the normal fees the applicant at the time of applyy itself is required to deposit an application fee of Rs400/- which is non-refundable.

There is a plethora of scholarship schemes available like medhabruti, national scholarship,rank holder scholarship etc.One needs to go to the respective websites and file an application electronically to avail these scholarships.

The college organises a lot of debates,elocutions, quizzes and essay competitions to pave way for an all-round development of students.It makes the students sociable. Also it helps them to develop a good rapport with others.In the present age it has become very important for students to get a good exposure to the outside world and conducting competitions like this would surely help them in the long run.

Hostel is alloted only to those students who stay at a distance of atleast 60kms from the college. Since the distance between the college and my home is only about 20kms that's why I wasn't eligible for claiming hostel benefit.Moreover I wasn't in need of one as well.I cannot give you any more insight than this as I have not opted for this facility.

Seniors basically act as a guiding light to their juniors.And it is no different for me as well.I got the opportunity to interact with a good bunch of seniors and they were very kind and welcoming.

I am a commerce graduate and I wanted to pursue a master degree so I decided to choose Khallikote College for fulfilling my aim. The reason for choosing this college is quite obvious as it is situated nearby and this college is one of the reputed ones in the entire state. Inorder to get a seat in this college for m.com one needs to crack an entrance exam which is similar to the NET exam. It is MCQ based.The questions are usually based on what all we have read in graduation.Also seat is alloted on the basis of marks secured in graduation. On the basis of marks secured in entrance and performance in graduation if the college authorities are satisfied then they send an intimation to the selected candidates to visit the college alongwith prescribed documents (like 10th,12th and degree marksheets)for verification purpose. The entrance exam is conducted in June and the admission process continues till the end of July.

We have 5 lecturers in the college for our course at present out of which only 2 are permanent and the other 3 are contractual based. Most of them have an average age of 30 years. A majority of them are holders of master degree and have also cleared NET exam which is important to be cleared for seeking lectureship.
