Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure was quite vast! So you basically have to study a lot of things to get a grasp of the syllabus and then prepare accordingly.I mean the syllabus isn't bad or there are topics that are no use to the students, there are the needed topics and chapters which will actually help the students to get hold of the entire thing and groom them too. Now, lemme give you a glance of the exam structure.Since we all know, UG course is of three years. And every year, we had two semesters wherein we had three papers in which one was honours paper, second one was an elective paper and the third being compulsory subject. All the papers were of 80 marks each.We also had internals that were held before each semester, which is also called as mid-semesters.20 marks were allotted to each subject in that.So the total paper carries 100 marks each. And each semester had 300 as its maximum marks. So, at the end of the final year, you will have to appear 6 semesters which will carry a total of 1800 marks. In the final year, you'll have to appear two honours papers in the semesters in comparison to one in the first and the second year. And one will be compulsory subject. So that's all about the exam structure.

Placement Experience

3.5

To be honest, I never sat in any of those placement programs. But yes, a few reputed companies like HP, L&T do come to recruit Freshers. Many students do go and take part in those placement programs.Even a lot of them get selected too.So I'd say the placement opportunities are quite good at BJB.And yes, it does provide internship.

College Events

4

The festivals are celebrated auspiciously at BJB.it's always a happy place during festives.Students gather in large numbers and celebrate in a peaceful way.Since it's a government college, so cultural programs are only held in years if students elections are successfully held.So it means if no election, no cultural programs. This also includes the annual sports day.Students do take part in sports in large numbers with that sportsmanship spirit and enthusiasm which feels too good to watch them perform. The college also celebrates significant days like Independence day and Republic Day!

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure at BJB is very feasible because it's a government run college. So it's obvious that the fees will be much lesser in comparison to other private colleges.During my graduation time, they charged sth like 2k bucks every year for the readmission. So you can tell that this is obviously very feasible!

Fees and Financial Aid

Actually, am unaware of any such things, if at all, they're provided by our college. So I can't actually say anything on this. But if I've to make an educated guess, I don't think BJB offers any loan facilities for the poor students or economically weaker sections.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni association does hold a get together every now and then. It's always good to see that effort made by the ex students to keep in touch with their friends, seniors, juniors. My seniors were very helpful to me.They helped me with notes, guided me on how to study, what can I opt for in the future which will be best for me.They were always ready to help you just need to ask them once and then they won't take a step back and think twice. They'll just do it!

Admission

BJB Autonomous college is the premier college of Odisha! Moreover, it's a government college, so it's obvious that there's huge competition among students to get admission into this college! Students get admitted here on the basis of merit list.So only the best of the best study there. So, I also wanted to get admitted there. The admission process is quite simple. You have to fill up the form and and then wait for the first selection list wherein which students are qualified to take admission. Then there's a second selection list too wherein the remaining seats are filled up by those students whose names feature in that list.Luckily, I made it to the first selection list with ease so there was no problem or waiting game. Then, there's spot admission process too wherein the seats are filled up on the spot.Like, if someone has done admission but decides not to join and wants to leave, or if students whose name was featured on the selection lists but didn't turn up for admission. So those seats are filled up in this process. On the admission day, a group of teachers will be present in an auditorium wherein they'll call the name of students alphabetically and then you have to submit the necessary documents which will be verified by them. After it's done, you'll have to go to the cash counter which is present in the administrative block.Submit the fees, get the receipt and you're all done.I was pursuing bachelor of arts in economics honours.I didn't have any knowledge how arts was like, to be honest! So before taking admission, I had a few friends who were studying at BJB.So I asked them like, what's the best subject I can opt for? So they said you can take economics or english.Because those are the royal subjects in arts. And since I had studied economics in class 10th, I thought this course would be the same. But, it turned out to be totally different thing! I just scratched my head like why on earth did I choose this subject as my honours? But then, I adapted well and studied accordingly and got okayish grades, if not good, at the end of my final year.Economics is an interesting subject if you develop a liking for it which I did eventually and somewhat succeeded in it.I chose to go for graduation because I never wanted to do engineering.I don't know why, but I never liked that stream.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties at BJB are very highly rated by everyone.Because they're the best of the best teachers out there. They're highly qualified as well.Every teacher there tries to share a very healthy rapport with the students. They try to make the students as comfortable as possible. So that they won't hesitate to come upto them and clear their doubts, if they have any. They're all very well versed in their respective subjects. If courses don't finish in the given time, they also take extra classes after college hours or on holidays. They show keen interest in grooming a student.Support them in any way possible. So I'd say the faculties at BJB are too good.
