College days

At the time of admission they urge and compel us to give donation to the construction of the buildings and blocks. I felt like bribing to the management for the admission of poor students. Since I had secured 94% they didn't ask me any money in the form of donation. But the other folks were asked to pay minimum of 2000 rs during admission interview.

The course structure was upto the knowledge. I always had fun going college. There wasn't any pressure of syllabus. The subjects were not tough though. I happened to learn new things on daily basis. I find statistics subject was bit complicated for me. Other than that it was not tough as I thought.

To be honest, there is only one college in Ambur. There is no internship in our college and the job placement was very less. During my period only one campus interview held. The exposure of job interviews to the students in our college was minimum. I believe now they have more opportunities regarding campus placement.

When it comes to events I could tell the sports events would take place every year. It was a good opportunity for the students to bring out their athletic talents and boost everyone about the fitness. Apart from that many cultutural events take place and the competitions would be dancing, singing, drawing and quiz etc. I remember participating in a debate competition and placed second place.

Comparing to the other colleges our fee structure was far better. For bachelor's degree the fee was 5000 to 10,000 per year and for the post graduates the fee was between 10,000 to 15,000. My overall fee for the complete three years was 12,000 only.

Yes, of course. All the students who have no backlogs can apply for the Maulana Azad scholarship which gives minimum of 4500 rs scholarship for the respective students. To get eligible for the scholarship one needs to clear all the papers in their semester exams. As far as loan is concerned no loan facility was given.

As I mentioned above sports day would be held every year without fail and we have a huge ground to play ground. We get to play cricket, hockey, football, badminton, etc. We also have gymnastics facilities. Students of biology and science avail lab facilities as well. With regard to gender, race religion etc there is no inequality. We adhere to the diversity. There is no question arises of intolerance.

I wasnt in hostel but days scholar. There is no hostel provided as almost of the students come to study from same city. A handful of students come from the other towns but they choose to travel to college daily as it takes only one hour for transportation.

My seniors were very helpful during the course of study. Studies or sports or other activities our seniors were stood firm with us. They give guidance to us to achieve our goals. Our alumnus have offered free water purifiers set up in our college as a gesture of gratitude. No way that our seniors involved in any scuffle or in ragging. We were treated like siblings.

As i had chosen accounts and commerce in the +2 so I had to choose Bcom in UG. There so many groups available but I was offered Bcom General. There were limited seats for general category since I secured 94% percentage in public exam so I had no hurdle in getting Bcom General.

All my faculties were well trained and expert in their subjects. One of my faculties is a doctorate. And the others are PhD MPhil etc. Not a single professor I found uncomfortable with. The way the faculty makes us understand the subjects was fabulous. They indulged us to take seminars.
