An Impression of GCAD

Gateway college of architecture and design is really good and academically efficient. The management is really helpful. The management, staff and the faculty along with students make GCAD a success.

The course curriculum and exam structure have been designed really efficiently. DCRUST is the official university who prescribes our syllabus and examinations are set by them. The fair practice of practical work in workshops and studios is well connected to efficient classroom learning.

The college does not extend placements for internships officially. However, if the children reach out to the professors personally, they do get help through contacts. The faculty provides the right guidance for it.

Small events are organized during festivals in the college atrium or the newly furnished college auditorium. Freshers are organized for the incoming batch. Every week, Mural Activity is organized to break the monotony of everyday studies and for the overall growth of the student.

We are supposed to give 2LAKH per year including hostel, tution, the mess. In the first year, a sum of Rs 1,00,000 was given in semester 1 and another Rs 1,00,000 in semester 2. Other expenses are of tuckshop, regular prints, submissions and other stationery which are given by our own pocket and not included in the fee as such.

I did not opt for any scholarship or education loan as such for getting into this college. There are not great scholarship options.

Campus Life is really vibrant. The atrium is the life of the college. Whenever you enter college, you would feel really active. Gender Ratio for boys: girls is 1:1. The students come to this college from all over the country. I, myself am from Jammu, J&K. Murals Activity is conducted very Wednesday which includes Literature, Fine Arts and Performing Arts. This helps in the overall development of students.

Rs 50000 is the hostel fee per semester. Hostel facilities are acceptable. Good AC rooms have been provided with proper beds, cupboards and study table with plug points. However, the medical facility within the hostel is not very great. Cooking devices like microwave are also provided in the hostel.

Senior students are really helpful. No cases of ragging are found in this college. We interact in hostels and in the college atrium, learn software from our seniors and of course. We would be found playing in the landscape after college.

I cleared both Jee-Mains Paper-II and NATA examination in the year 2018. I had known seniors receiving education from this college. Along with that, I was selected into this college through Haryana Council too. We got efficient help from Mr Akash during the admission process. It was quite easy and quick for me.

The faculty of the college is well qualified. All the professors hold a Master degree or Doctorate in Architecture. They are helpful and well learned. They follow the guidelines provided by the college. They take attendance really seriously. Submissions are also considered only if given on time.
