Review of Lyallpur khalsa college Jalandhar

College is full of gardens. The campus is quite large. The ground is biggest in the city. Best class computer and science labs. Overall environment is good. There is great unity among students. College is secure with good security.

Course curriculum is well designed. There are six semesters during the course of three years. There are mostly different subjects in each semester. Exams are conducted twice a year. Exams are of 50 marks each. There are 10 questions of one mark and 4 questions of 10 marks each.

For my course internship was not required. However placement cell organized campus placements every year. Mostly the students were chosen by private banks and CA firms for the job. For a fresher B.Com graduate average pay was from 180000 to 240000 per annum.

Our college is one of the best college for festivals. Youth festival is organised every year. Sports meet is every year. Many times singers or actors also came to college for promotion of their movies or albums.

Fees is flexible. There are also a lot of scholarships for eligible students. Fees structure is basically quarterly. College is not that expensive. Fees of my course was 38000 per year. However I received scholarship in first year due to which 20% of my fee was waived off.

There are various types of scholarships in the college. Based on percentage of marks, based on need, general fixed quota scholarship for students, sports scholarships, scholarships for position in University etc. I received scholarship for percentage of marks. It is availed by reduction in fees of college.

College is actively engaged in extra curricular activities. There are singing competitions, dance competitions, sports matches, etc throughout the year. Labs are well equipped with best class infrastructure. There is also open computer lab for students who want to work on any assignments.

Alumni is very supportive. They will help you in every way possible. They are of friendly nature. With some teachers we were like friends. Seniors are super cool. If you ask for any help no one will deny you. There is also a youth club in college where all students talk about issues and their possible solutions.

After the results of 12th class, At first we met the principal of the college. Then after the meeting we fixed the date of interview. Then I got into for interview. I had interview with head of department. He tested my General knowlege. We had a talk about my interests and future ambition. He suggested me course and then got the admission.

Faculty of college contains mix of experienced teachers as well as freshly hired ones. Most of the times their support is great but there were also sometimes the teachers were not present in the class. Teachers lacking experience sometimes struck with simple problems.
