Remarks

My experience with the Al Azhar Dental College is a mixed batch of feeling. I am pursuing my BDS from the thrissur campus. Academics wise and overall course structure wise it’s quite flexible and educating. But some faculty members are there just as a formality, though the rest of the faculty is quite dedicated. Campus life and the hostel life is also good, but the placements are not good.

College Events

3

Live shows, electronic music festival like Sunburn, movie promotions takes place in the college campus. Our Dental department also organises many field visits to offer free dental treatment. We also have our own sports team, which participates in intercollege sports events organised annually.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The entire course fee is more than 10 lacs which is not in the range of affordability for a middle class family. I took a student loan, since it was my dream to be a dental surgeon.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is awesome in the Al Azhar Campus. Many cultural and festive events are celebrated in the University campus which brings people from different departments and cultural backgrounds together.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel life for girls is strict. You may feel you are in a convent school hostel. Mess food is also not of good quality. There is no student representatives or any authority to complain to. Hostel life may be fun if you are lucky enough to find good friends in the hostel.

Admission

Admission is on the basis of UG NEET scores. I picked this college because Al Azhar college is at a close distance from my house.

Faculty

3.5

Some of the faculty is quite supportive, while others are there just because of their qualification. They are there to just wrap up the syllabus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We can be the reason for someone's confident smile is the reason for my decision to choose this course. Prosthodontology is the specific aspect of this curriculum that influenced me. If the student go strict to the curriculum that will definitely reflect in the real world. this makes the student more confident in the career. The available teaching methods are good enough. As i mentioned each level has its own toughness. if we stick on to the curriculum, and the path paved by the facilities the difficulty level will be much lower

Course Curriculum Overview:

No one tells you the dark side of the course or even if they do little do we understand..this course is never as expected..it requires a lot of patience, and strength to hold on yourself when the whole campus is against you and you have to work as a one man army. it's just powerpoint presentation and reading it aloud in class and it's done...it we who have to work. There are 2-3 internal exam but none of these marks are considered for the last University exam...it's all what we score for the final exam..there's another model exam then lots of small tests

Good college to learn from but the management is very expensive and not very supportive but otherwise good faculty where we can learn if we try to. Good inpatient count so we get to have better experience and our quota forces us to do more.
