I am planning between Stanley Medical College and Madurai Medical College. What is the best out of these?

I've had a pretty good experience at Madurai Medical College while studying B.Sc Nursing. The tuition fee is just Rs. 3950 per year, which is quite affordable. The hostel facilities are decent, but the mess food could be better. The campus has a library, and while the faculty are knowledgeable, some of them just read from PPTs instead of teaching properly. The college does prepare you well for practical nursing, but it might lack in theoretical depth at times. Overall, if you’re looking for a low-cost nursing program, this could be a good fit, but be prepared for some challenges.

I can only speak for Madurai Medical College since I studied Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) there, and I really think it's a great choice. The curriculum focuses heavily on practical sessions, which I found super helpful for real-world applications. The fees are quite manageable, around Rs. 3000 for tuition, and about Rs. 5500 for semester exams. You also get a decent hostel experience with a deposit of Rs. 40000, which is returned after completing the course. The faculty-to-student ratio is quite good at 1:4, making it easier to get personal attention. Overall, I think Madurai Medical College is a solid option for pharmacy students.

If I had to pick between the two, I'd go with Stanley Medical College. It's located in Chennai, which is a big city with lots of development around it. Plus, it's ranked as the second-best government medical college in Tamil Nadu, right after Government Medical College, Madras, commonly known as MMC. The campus is impressive, and it has a rich history since it was founded in 1938. You know what they say, "Old is Gold."

Madurai Medical College is also pretty decent and ranks just after Kilpauk Medical College, placing it at number five. It was established in 1954, so it has been around for a while. The infrastructure is decent, but the buildings are quite old.
