Which college is better DJ Sanghvi or KJ Somaiya?

I believe DJ Sanghvi edges out KJ Somaiya when it comes to the Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology. The campus life at DJ Sanghvi is vibrant with lots of events, and the annual fest Trinity is really fun. Also, the internship opportunities are great, with firms like JP Morgan offering good stipends. The curriculum is updated regularly, which is essential in tech fields. So, if you’re looking for a college with a good balance of academics and fun, DJ Sanghvi might be the better choice.

I'm currently doing my EXTC studies at Somaiya Vidyavihar and just wrapped up my first year. Here’s my take on KJSCE:

KJSCE has one of the largest campuses in Mumbai aside from IITB. It's really green and peaceful, which is great whether you’re hitting the books or just relaxing. Sports enthusiasts will love it here, with facilities like a cricket ground, a top-notch football field, an Olympic-sized track, and a swimming pool. They're also building indoor stadiums, which is a big deal for the college.

Attendance isn’t a big issue here, so you don’t have to stress about hitting 75%. Plus, no need to worry about assignments or keeping journals. Unlike many MU students who spend loads of time on journals, at Somaiya, you get printed ones and just fill them in.

The college is quite advanced. It's the only place in the country where the Engineering Graphics exam is done on AutoCAD. Everything is very practical-focused. The teachers are generally good too.

Placements are impressive, with autonomy attracting more companies. Some offer packages up to 20 lpa. But, the fees are on the higher side, about ?1,80,000 for the first year, which is over 40k more than DJ Sanghvi.

You get weekends off, unlike DJSCE, but exams here are tough and very application-based. They’re much harder than MU exams. Subjects like SPA and FCP can be challenging, asking for deep understanding rather than memorization. Unit tests don’t come with question banks and are pretty challenging.

During semester exams, you only get a day off between papers, so early preparation is key, unlike MU where they get a week off. However, you do enjoy a 1.5-month vacation.

The extracurricular scene is fantastic, among the best in Mumbai, with things like Orion Racing for international exposure. Festivals like Symphony, Shield, and Abhiyantriki are top-notch.

The student crowd is great, thanks to the high cut-offs. The college is conveniently located, just a 5-minute walk from Vidyavihar station. The labs are top-tier and well-equipped.

Honestly, I think DJ Sanghvi is better than KJ Somaiya, especially if you're looking at the Bachelor of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The placements here are really amazing, with companies like Google and UBS Bank visiting for recruitment. The average package is around 10.78 LPA, and I heard someone even got a 56 LPA package from Zomato! Plus, the faculty is quite supportive and they focus on practical learning, which really helps with understanding complex concepts. Just my opinion, but if you want good placement opportunities, DJ Sanghvi is the way to go.

• Placement Challenges: While big companies like TCS and Accenture do visit, fewer companies come compared to DJ, which can mean fewer job offers by graduation.
