What is your review of SVCE Is it a strict college?

I'm in my second year studying Information Technology at SVCE, and honestly, compared to other nearby colleges, SVCE stands out. The teachers here are generally good and approachable, so if you ever need assistance, they're there for you. If you're keen on academics, there are mentors who can help you engage in activities beyond the college, which is great for gaining more exposure. They regularly organize workshops, guest lectures, and competitions on campus.

Cultural activities might not be their strong suit, but you can always enjoy cultural fests at other colleges. The campus facilities include a pretty extensive library, an auditorium, an open-air theater, canteens with decent food, a swimming pool, and lots of spots to chill with your friends.

The college asks for 80% attendance, but if you end up between 75-80%, you can submit a medical certificate. In my opinion, it's not a very strict place. There are just a few manageable rules.

SVCE stands out among the engineering colleges affiliated with Anna University. The college doesn't impose a strict dress code, except for banning T-shirts. Skipping classes occasionally isn't a big deal, as no one will hassle you about it. The faculty members are really helpful and they frequently organize guest lectures and industrial visits. If research is your interest, SVCE is a solid option. They also provide support for students aiming to take exams like GATE, GRE, and CAT. The facilities on campus are pretty impressive too.

If you're dreaming of a college experience like VIT or SRM, you might want to reconsider. SVCE is more laid-back compared to other colleges. Since I'm part of the autonomous stream, the way they handle internal and external assessments is different from the affiliated stream. You'll find that teachers are always ready to help. As long as you meet the requirements, you can count on getting placed. They also support you if you're preparing for exams like TOEFL, GRE, or GATE.

You can definitely have fun, but studying is important too. There are many clubs such as photography, LEO, ECO, NCC, and NSS to help you develop your skills and knowledge. The campus provides a nice environment. While there are dress codes for both boys and girls, I think it's a great place for academic pursuits. When I first joined, I was worried about strict rules because of reviews I read, but after being here, I really enjoy it. So, there's nothing to stress about.
