I think Goa Institute of Management (GIM) is a better choice than Fore IB for the Post Graduate Diploma in Management. The faculty here is really knowledgeable and experienced, with a student-faculty ratio of around 1:12, which allows for more personalized attention. Plus, GIM has a strong focus on case study learning, making the exams quite challenging but applicable to real-world scenarios. Also, GIM boasts a 100% placement record, with companies like Microsoft and HDFC Bank coming for final placements, which is pretty impressive.

For me, GIM stands out more than Fore IB, especially because of the internship opportunities. I went through the Summer Internship Program (SIP) where I was able to work on live projects with big firms, and it helped me connect with the industry better.

The average stipend I received was around 50K per month, which was motivating. And with roles being offered in various fields, I think GIM prepares you really well for the job market.

Both Goa Institute of Management (GIM) and FORE School of Management are reputable B-schools located in different regions of India. If I had to pick one, I would lean toward FORE. Here's my reasoning:

Location: GIM might be a great choice for students coming from Mumbai or Pune. However, FORE's central location in Delhi makes it a strategic choice, attracting students not only from the North but all over India. This location advantage helps in building strong corporate relationships.

Average Salary: Both schools offer an average package of 9.4 lakhs per annum.

Highest Salary: At GIM, the highest offer is 16.5 lakhs, while FORE boasts a higher figure at 21 lakhs.

Fees: The cost for GIM is around 15 lakhs, whereas FORE charges approximately 12.5 lakhs.

Admission Policy: GIM accepts scores from CAT, XAT, GMAT, and CMAT and gives some preference to local students. On the other hand, FORE considers CAT, XAT, and GMAT scores without any preference for gender or local domicile. It also offers scholarships worth over 1 crore.

Overall, both have their strengths, but FORE stands out for me.

Honestly, I'd choose GIM any day. The Goa Institute of Management offers something truly valuable—a strong sense of community. When you spend two years in a residential program, you become really close to everyone: juniors, seniors, faculty, and your batchmates. There's no need to actively "network" because people are naturally willing to help. You get to know everyone on campus, and even many visiting alumni, on a first-name basis. It's a fantastic experience. You don't need to be part of any club; you can just approach anyone if you have a question or need assistance.

GIM also has great faculty, with a strong focus on quality teaching. They require 80% attendance in all classes. Professors are hired only if they have over a decade of experience or a PhD, ensuring high standards in education.

GIM teaches you discipline and how to maintain balance. You're encouraged to participate in college events like extracurricular activities, movies, games, outings, and treks, while also completing assignments, projects, and readings. It might be tough at first, but once you adapt, it makes corporate life much easier. You break away from the typical home-work-home cycle and become more engaged in lifelong learning.
