B.Tech, Chemical Engineering at NIT Surat in 2025
Ok , so talking about the course structure, i have idea about first year only so i would like to specify that in specific branch , that is chemical engineering
In very first year , you will be having 7 subject named
1. Engineering mathematics
2. Introduction to chemical engineering
3. Engineering drawing
4. Applied chemistry
5. Workshop
6. Indian value system
7. Energy and environment in chemical engineering
All the faculties being the polite is able to deliver full knowledge in their respective subjects.
Coming on to exams , there is one mid sem and one end sem exam and sometimes class tests are done for internals.
If i say about my dislike , i really dont like engineering drawing faculty of my class. The main reason is he speak very low and even half of the class is unable to listen him.

Faculty student ratio is good which is 1:6.
All the faculties of transportation department are very good,
If including names
Then
Srinivas sir
Amit sir
Joshi sir
Rakesh sir.....
Everyone is too good.
If we talk about exams, then there are internals as well as externals,
In internal exams , sometimes there is open book test happening.
Class tests are also compulsory for the academic growth .
Basics to advanced Software knowledge are also provided for the betterment of the career of each and every student.
Course curriculum is solely focused in the only perspective of the jobs and researched based.
No bookish knowledge will be provided.
Everything is based on practical sessions and tutorials and as well as projects and field work.

Faculty-to-student ratio in the Physics department is good, and most are approachable. Some professors explain concepts well, while others focus heavily on theory with limited practical exposure. Exams are moderately difficult with high pass rates. Curriculum is academically strong but needs updates for better industry relevance.
