Getting a transcript from Gujarat University is more process-heavy than most universities, so here's the complete current picture.

Official process (2024-25):

  • Apply through the Gujarat University portal: guportal.in (Student Services section).
  • Fee: ?550 per set of transcripts. For WES/foreign university applications, you need typically 2-3 sets.
  • Required documents: Application form, all semester marksheets (originals for verification), degree/provisional certificate, ID proof.
  • Processing time: 4-6 weeks from document submission.

What most people miss:

  • In-person visit required: You must submit physical documents at the University campus in Navrangpura, Ahmedabad. Postal submission is NOT accepted for the initial application.
  • Sealed transcript requirement: For WES/immigration purposes, request "sealed in official envelope" — GU provides this. Specify this at the time of application.
  • If applying from abroad: You can authorize someone locally (parent, friend) with a notarized Power of Attorney to submit on your behalf.
  • Track your application: GU provides an application number — track at guportal.in.
  • Express/priority processing: Not officially available — start the process at least 8 weeks before your deadline.

Common issue: Old marksheets from affiliated colleges need the college's endorsement before GU processes them. Check this in advance.
