Hearing from students studying in Amity University, Noida, I have come across many dissatisfied students who claimed to receive a poor quality of media education. There are certain reasons that make Amity University not a good option for journalism. These may include a poor faculty to bad placements. 

The faculty of Journalism at Amity University is not up to the mark. The teachers are not very much experienced, though there may be some exceptions. But overall the faculty is weaker than other colleges like MICA (Ahmedabad), Christ Church (Bangalore) and Symbiosis (Pune).

Their course curriculum is outdated and is mostly theory based. Whereas Journalism is considered to be a more practical subject, students at Amity focus more on Theory-based education than practicals. If you really want to study journalism at a professional level, you should consider colleges like MICA (Ahmedabad), Christ Church (Bangalore) and Symbiosis (Pune), which are proven to be better institutes than Amity University, Noida.

• You will also get opportunities to obtain internships at MNC’s.

Amity University Uttar Pradesh’s first campus was in Noida. Amity Gurgaon is one of the recent establishments of the Amity family.

Amity Noida is considered to be the head of all the Amity campuses. Top recruiting companies like Microsoft, Google, Wipro, TCS, etc. visit the Noida campus first for placements. Students of Amity Gurgaon can also go for placements at Amity Noida. They are open to student participation.

Finally, it depends on your choice and what you prefer as an institution. Do check the college ranking and whatever they are offering from the official website. Also, you could ask ex-students for a proper insight about the college.

It is suggested that you go for Amity Noida as it holds a better position and is one of the first and the oldest campuses of Amity University.

Not all Amities are glittery. Some just focus on the extra-curricular and college fun. In some Amities, the students, as well as faculties are worse. They are open to DJ Parties, Fashion Shows, Picture Promotions, and some random events the whole year. Even if you try, you will get distracted by another event or happenings.

Choosing the better Amity

• You need to first collect the information about both Amity campuses, according to the place you prefer. It doesn’t matter if it is a university or a business school.
• Reach out to alumni or any other intellectual people from whom you can take advice, ask about the expertise of teachers, and know the genuine placements.
• As Amity is a brand, its degree will have a weightage on your resume. So, it is better to choose according to you.
• Amity Global Business School (AGBS) seems to be a cherry because of its fee. But it has not been well-established. Amity University is ahead of AGBS in terms of infrastructure and faculties.

Amity University gives you international exposure with its affiliation with various foreign institutes.

The main thing is that after your 10+2, no AGBS or Amity University or even IIMs will spoon-feed you to study and grow. Bind your seriousness throughout your journey of BBA.

Amity University, Noida, and Manipal University, Jaipur are not good options for Mass Communication. I know a few people from both the institutes and I have not heard good reviews about the mass communication program at the institutes. 

For 2 years, Amity University, Noida will charge almost 6 lakhs for the course. However, the quality of education and the placement opportunities is not worth the course fee that they charge. Most of the students end up getting sales jobs with a salary package of around INR 30,000 per month.

The same can be seen at Manipal University Jaipur. 

The problem with the Mass Communication program offered by these institutes is that the course structure is quite outdated. It does not meet the needs of the current industry. So, if you want a successful career in Mass Communication it will be better if you don’t choose any of these two options.

My friend is currently pursuing her Master’s in English at Chandigarh University. It is better because it provides more choices and has an education system that is well-equipped for students who want to do major in English.

• With media being so popular among students nowadays, literary quizzes are held once a month to keep students informed about current events based on literature.
• The teaching approach is very up-to-date and pays attention to each and every student in order to assist them in choosing the required specialization.
• Term papers, research papers, and dissertations are all part of this area, which helps students to gain interest in their future programs and presentations. It is particularly beneficial to students who are pursuing a Ph.D.
• The environment is very student-centric. You can easily share your views with faculty and students very conveniently.
• You will be provided with specialized courses to enhance your skills as per your interests.

Considering all the above, MA in English is best offered by Chandigarh University.
