Does every BCA program have maths as a subject?

DM
Dhe Mukharjee Posted On : April 5th, 2024
Bachelor of Computer Applications Degrees, Ganpat University

BCA is a 3 year degree program. These 3 years are divided into 6 semesters, out of which 4 semesters contain Maths as a compulsory subject. Some colleges do offer BCA without Mathematics, but then there’s no use of doing this degree.

Maths is a foundational subject for BCA, and without understanding the basic logic you can’t be a good programmer. For that you need Maths.

You can pursue BCA without having Maths as a subject in your 10+2, but then you’ll have to work hard on this subject in the course of your degree program.

Which engineering branch uses organic chemistry?

AS
Aditya Sinha Posted On : April 5th, 2024
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India

In most Indian colleges, organic chemistry is part of the first year mandatory curriculum, which is the same across all B.Tech branches. Other than that, some colleges offer Organic Chemistry as an elective in the Chemical Engineering curriculum.

Chemical Engineering is more concerned with optimizing and increasing the productivity of a process, and less with the reaction mechanism part. Despite this, organic chemistry is present in some CE subjects in parts. These subjects are Petroleum Engineering, Biochemistry, and Chemical Process Technology. Across the globe, and not just in India, Organic Chemistry is a part of the Chemical curriculum, even if not directly.

Whether or not you can change your college after B.Tech 1st year completely depends on the norms of your present college/university. Some colleges allow it, while some don't. Also, you must score good grades during the first year in order to change your college. My brother had changed his engineering college from JSSATEN Noida to NIT Patna after his first year.

Is Concordia University good for Masters in Software Engineering?? If not what are the other recommendations????

AB
Almeda Brook Posted On : February 27th, 2023
M.S in Computer Science & Software Engineering, Concordia University, Montreal (Graduated 2019)

Yes, Concordia University is indeed good for Masters in Software Engineering and is ranked among the top 500 in many ranking sites. The curriculum comprises theoretical knowledge of software development through coding intensive courses. To land a good job, you should be skilled in programming language and also have proof of projects that you have worked on in the past.

An additional Work-Study Program enables students to work on-campus either part-time in the academic year or full-time in the summer season.

Curriculum: The curriculum touches on basic topics related to software engineerings like Advanced Software Architecture, Software Systems Requirements Specification, Software Project Management, and Software Comprehension and Maintenance.

Placements: Placements are a bit tough in this field as the employment rate is very low around 55%. Only skilled graduates are given preference while screening for job offers. As an international student, you can have an upper hand by taking advantage of online resources, learning Canadian culture, and being prepared for Canadian winter.
