How good is the B.Tech information technology course at the Manipal Institute of Technology?
MIT Manipal BTech Information Technology is decently structured covering concepts related to software, hardware, and networking as well. Although the degree offered is that B.E in IT, the department is called Information and Communication Technology so students have to also study communication courses straight from students of the ECE branch.
I will advise you to take up this course only if you are interested in computers and related stuff because the concepts taught are tough and unless you have an interest in the field you won’t be able to cope with the rigorous curriculum. Here are some additional points you would like to know about the branch
- Every semester has 5 subjects and 3 labs. The labs carry two credits, unlike other branches where they have 2 labs of 1 credit. So practicals are given a lot of importance.
- A good variety of electives are offered making the curriculum flexible.
- You will have to learn to code if you opt for this branch.
- The IT branch has 5 subjects only so they can go home earlier than other students and the end-semesters get over two days earlier.
- There are evaluations every fortnight in the labs, lab sessionals, and quizzes for internals for theory subjects and labs as well which other branches don't.
- The placement scenario is great because of the immense demand of this branch.
Overall, this branch will fetch you enough opportunities if you are genuinely passionate about it.
Which one is better for CSE: Jaypee Institute of Information Technology or NIT Hamirpur?
There are several factors which one can consider while comparing two institutions. Here are some things that I considered while choosing my college.
NIT Hamirpur will offer you the prestigious ‘NIT’ tag. As compared to other colleges in this region, the environment over there is superior. By environment I mean the learning, interaction and personal development offered at an institution. The placements are continuously improving with new companies visiting the campus each year, offering better packages. This college has shown positive growth in terms of exposure and student- teacher interaction as well.
Even though I’m a student of NIT Hamirpur, my opinion is devoid of such biases. Thus, according to me, NIT Hamirpur is a better choice for your CSE program.
Which course is better: CSE at BITS Hyderabad or IT at IIIT Allahabad?
Ans. If you have to choose between BITS and IIITA. You should definitely go with IIIT Allahabad. At IIITA, there is no home state quota i.e. seats reserved for students of Allahabad. BITS has a no-reservation policy.

- IIIT Allahabad has a coding culture that is renowned and is best in class.
- BITS Hyderabad’s coding culture is good but lacks in some aspects as compared to IIITA.
So, if you have the option to choose between CSE at BITS Hyderabad and IT at IIIT Allahabad, go with IIITA as it is better than BITS in almost all aspects.
Which is a better option college for CSE or IT - VIT Vellore or IIIT Allahabad?
Considering this question, the first thing that can be highlighted is that both of these institutes cannot be compared at all. However, studying IT in IIIT Allahabad is far better as it offers several opportunities, as well as institutional environment and infrastructure to assist the student in their career growth appropriately.
However, CSE at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is not so secure considering the programming prospects and study culture that the student will get at IIITA. This choice is easy enough for the student to make as per their career perspectives.

Thus, considering the above facts, it can be stated that between these two institutes, the student must go for IIIT Allahabad, as VIT can’t be compared at all.
How is ICT in PDPU?
PDPU is a good option for pursuing ICT. The course curriculum is designed beautifully. The course structure is such that students get to learn from other resources as well. ICT bridges the gap between CE and ECE. The course outcome is pretty good in the field of technology. The faculties of the department are helpful and cooperative. PDPU placement highlights show the average and highest CTC to be INR 6.09 LPA and INR 25 LPA respectively.
Which should I choose: IIIT Allahabad (IT) or BITS Pilani campus (Manufacturing)?
When it comes to making a decision about your higher education, it is important to consider all your options and choose the one that best fits your goals and interests.
If you are considering taking Manufacturing at Pilani with the hope of transferring to a different branch after the first year, it's important to keep in mind that branch transfers are not guaranteed and can be difficult to obtain. Therefore, it might not be the best option for you if you are not genuinely interested in pursuing a degree in Manufacturing.
Instead, you might want to consider IIIT Allahabad for its IT program. It is a well-respected institution with a good faculty and a reputation for producing skilled graduates. Plus, it might be a better fit for you if you are interested in pursuing a career in IT or related fields.
Another option to consider is taking a dual degree at BITS. This will give you the opportunity to pursue a degree in a related field and increase your chances of being accepted into a CS program at BITS. This can be a good option if you are willing to put in the effort and time required for a dual degree program.
In the end, the decision is yours and you should choose the option that aligns with your interests, goals, and career aspirations.
Which college is better for IT, IET DAVV Indore or SGSITS Indore?
Both the colleges are similar to each other for the IT branch and provide equal facilities to their students, but IET DAVV is a little better than SGSITS.
- Academics: The IT department at SGSITS was established in 2000, so it can be termed as new as compared to IET DAVV or other reputed colleges. But the IT department at IET DAVV was established in September 1996, so it is much better and older than SGSITS.
- Faculty: Both the colleges have great faculty who are talented and experienced in their subjects and some of them have even completed their PhDs from top IITs and IISC.
- Fees: IET DAVV is a self-financed college and the fees are similar for all the branches and it is 65000 per annum. The fees of the IT branch at SGSITS are a little higher than IET DAVV and it is 70000 per annum.
- Placements: The placements of both these colleges have been excellent and many top companies including Adobe, Cognizant, Infosys, and many others have been visiting the campus and offering jobs to many students with good packages. In SGSITS, the IT students must have a higher than 7.5 pointer to sit for campus interview, while CSE branch students must have a 6.5 pointer or higher.
- Exposure: SGSITS has an advantage as it is much older than IET DAVV, so it has more reputation in the state. But IET DAVV is also a reputed institute and provides a wide range of exposure to its students.
- Extra-Curricular Activities: IET DAVV takes advantage of extracurricular activities like college fests, fresher's programs, and many others functions that are much better than at SGSITS.
As both these colleges are similar to each other in every other aspect except a few, so you can choose anyone according to your preferences.
Which is better, IIIT, Vadodara for IT or IIIT, Guwahati for ECE?
You have to decide based on the field in which you are passionate. There is not much difference in the curriculum framework since both are IIITs.
- In your first year, you will be studying the same core subjects be it IT or ECE branch.
- In your second year, IIIT Guwahati offers a lot of research opportunities if you are into it.
- You have a chance to opt for a project matching your field of interest out of numerous ones in the lot.
- You will be allocated under a professor who will guide you out throughout the process.
- Students at IIIT Guwahati have won numerous techno competitions not only in India but globally.
- Few research papers from the institute have also got recognition globally.
- Entire campus is facilitated with a high-speed internet connection.
- College even encourages its students to actively participate in extracurricular activities.
- There are various programming clubs which conduct seminars where top national and international guest lecturers are invited.
- Hostel facility is pretty decent too.
- The food offered at the campus is amazing, apart from that you also have 24*7 canteen facilities.
