The placement scenario at NIT Hamirpur for MTech CSE and Mobile Computing is decent. Many companies visit NIT Hamirpur every year. Both BTech and MTech students appear for similar companies with only a slight difference in packages. You can easily make it into an MNC if you have a good profile and enough skills.
Samsung R&D visits NIT Hamirpur every year for MTech with decent packages. These companies however have a high cutoff of around 8.0 CGPA. Additionally, many colleges come forward with teaching offers for LPU and TMU.

The Phase 1 of placement season 2022 went really well for IIT Dhanbad. The placement season commenced in December 2021. All the M.Tech CSE students got placed within a few days of Phase 1. Here are some details on their placements-
- A total of 23 students were placed in top brands, in different profiles.
- The recruiting companies were- Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Mathworks, Porter, Samsung Research, Florence Capital, IBM Cloud, ICICI Bank (Tech Division), Optum, IBM Data Science, Dell and Cogoport.
- The highest CTC stood at INR 44.1 LPA.
- The lowest CTC stood at INR 14 LPA.
From this data one can conclude that the placements for M.Tech CSE are quite good at IIT Dhanbad.

Pros:
- IIIT Bangalore has a very diverse and talented peer group because it has no reservation policy.
- The placements have been spectacular from the first batch itself when the median package stood at INR 14.7 LPA.
- IIIT Bangalore is known for its highly experienced and talented faculty. Their profiles are at par with IIT and NIT professors and are also very approachable.
- Located in the IT hub, IIIT Bangalore students receive internship offers from many top firms and IT Giants.
- The college has excellent campus and hostel facilities and every minor inconvenience is taken care of.
Cons:
- The college is CS-oriented and gives little importance to sports and other extracurricular activities. Students are more involved in hackathons and other coding competitions.
- IIIT Bangalore operates from a very small campus of only 10 acres.
- The course offered is a 5-year course rather than the usual 4-year course which requires you to spend an extra year doing an internship or a thesis.
- IIIT Bangalore does not enjoy a very good reputation among recruiters yet mainly because it’s newly established.
- It’s very expensive and the cost of the first year fees of the integrated program is INR ?3.84 Lakhs.
Considering everything, IIIT Bangalore will take a few more years to establish itself and therefore should only be considered if you have no better options.
IIT Delhi Mtech Computer Technology vs IIT Hyderabad Mtech CSE. Which is better for placements in product based software companies?
Both IIT Delhi MTech Computer Technology and IIT Hyderabad Mtech CSE are excellent engineering programs. However, my personal suggestion is IIT Delhi Ctech. Here’s why
- IIT Delhi offers the best opportunities considering its rank in the top 3 IITs
- IIT Delhi holds the Institute of Eminence Status
- The brand value of IIT Delhi is much higher than the new IIT Hyderabad.
- IIT Delhi being old has a very beautiful campus with great natural beauty. IIT Hyderabad on the other hand has a newly established campu that is still under construction.
- A few major companies don’t visit new IITs like IIT Hyderabad. IIT Delhi, on the other hand, is visited by top IT companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, Ola, Uber, Tower Research, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, Intel, Qualcomm, Samsung, etc
The only disadvantage you might face at IIT Delhi Is the intense competition with CS students as they are all top rankers.
I don’t mean to demean IIT Hyderabad but it’s a fact that the opportunities and exposure that IIT Delhi will offer cannot be compared to IIT Hyderabad.
How is the placement for an MTech in CSE at IIT Ropar?
IIT Ropar Placements 2023 were recently concluded and recorded 80.85% placements for the B.Tech batch. IIT Ropar highest package was recorded at INR 55 LPA whereas the average package was recorded at INR 22.49 LPA for B.Tech.
A few top firms that visited IIT Ropar for placements included Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Infosys etc.IIT Ropar MTech CSE recorded an average package of INR 18.94 LPA in 2022 with 100% placements.
Which is better for an M. Tech. degree in CSE from a placement perspective, IIT Guwahati or IIT Roorkee?
My brother was in a similar dilemma when he had to choose between IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee for MTech in CSE. Eventually, he went for IIT Roorkee because his sole focus was to secure a job as soon as possible.
- As far as placements are concerned, IIT Roorkee is better both in terms of the number of companies visiting and the average package.
- The course structure of IIT Roorkee has been recently dated and it is much better than the older one.
- IIT Roorkee is in close proximity to Delhi so you can have a taste of the city life as well.
IIT Guwahati has better research opportunities and culture than IIT Roorkee.
All in all, if it’s a job you are after, IIT Roorkee is the best choice but if you want to pursue a career in research, IIT Guwahati is the best place for you.
How is the placement at the MNNIT in Allahabad for an MTech CS student?
My brother has completed his M.Tech from MNNIT Allahabad and according to his experience, this institute lives up to the expectations in terms of placement. Here’s why:
- If you have done enough justice to your studies during these 2 years of M.Tech, then the rest is assured. Although no specific CTC can be guaranteed, you will ultimately land a good job.
- No doubt MNNIT Allahabad’s placement cell is very active and works hard for your better future. Thus, a long list of companies usually visits for campus recruitment every year offering a plethora of opportunities.
- In my brother’s placement time, companies like Walmart, Sony, Cap Gemini, TCS, Samsung, Amazon, Directi, etc companies came for recruitment. However, you must be efficient at coding to grab decent packages in such big companies. Here also, MNNIT help you out with their bunch of bonafide students that take the "ComputerClub" classes.
Overall, if a placement is your goal, you are at the right place. Luckily if you belong to the CS branch in MNNIT or any other college in India, you can have one of the best placement packages. Most of the students of the CS branch get placed for jobs and internships too.

Yes, M.Tech students in the Data Science stream at IIT Guwahati are eligible to sit for companies coming for CSE during placements. Most companies have no criteria for selecting students from specific streams only. However, it is up to the individual companies to decide which students they want to interview and hire.
Every company that visits the campus for placements has fixed eligibility criteria such as 10th, 12th percentage, and then the specific branch they are looking for. For instance, Goldman Sachs prefers students of Civil Engineering. A student that fulfills all the necessary criteria set by the recruiting company can sit for the written exam and further process that happens in the subsequent round.
It has been observed that most companies are open for both CSE and Data Science Branch during the placement process.
