Be more specific about your rank as it would help define the scenario better. But, in any case, you should know the various advantages of IET Lucknow over Galgotias. Some of them are as follows:

1. The peer group at IET Lucknow is extremely better and they choose to be focused on every cause whatsoever.
2. It is a government-run institute, which gives it an upper hand.
3. There is the provision of a scholarship for complete waiver on the tuition fees for several backward students in the class. You might also secure your B.Tech degree completely free. Besides, it comes with amazing ROI.
4. The faculty in every department is better than most other institutes around. Both permanent and visiting, in Mechanical engineering, Civil Engineering, and the CSE department are one of a kind.
5. You will also have access to several coaching centers within a 2 KM radius, which is highly beneficial. Thus, you can prepare with liberty for as many exams as you want to take, like CAT, GATE, UPSC, GRE, and others.
6. The placement drive has always been good. The visiting companies are Amazon, Adobe, TCS, Wipro, Sigma, LAVA international, Honda Cars, Analytics Quotient, Snapdeal, BSNL, Merchant Navy, Sterlite, Tata Chemicals, and more.

Other than the advantages, here are some of its demerits,

1. The infrastructure of IET Lucknow is somewhat poor, as is found in many other government institutes.
2. The administration can sometimes be extremely indifferent towards the requirements students usually have.
3. The quality of pedagogy is rapidly deteriorating in most classes.

You can enroll at IET Lucknow only if you wish to pursue Mechanical Engineering, CSE, or Civil Engineering. In contrast, if you want to ace other important competitive exams, then you can research more about other institutes as well.

It will be better if you prepare for NIMCET because the condition of MCA is not so good in IET Lucknow. One of my friends pursued an MCA course at IET Lucknow and here’s what he has to share about it -

• The faculty team at IET Lucknow allotted to the MCA course are mostly guest faculties and they are not good enough to complete the whole syllabus.
• Placement is also not very good and only 4 to 5 companies allow MCA students to sit in the campus drive every year.
• Only some students are recruited through on-campus placements.

It is suggested that you should try for better options as well. However, make sure you choose wisely as this will decide your career path.

As my brother is a student of IET Lucknow, I will be sharing his experience as he recently completed his first year there. The changes which my brother and many of his batch mates want to see at IET Lucknow include:

Administration 

• Like other government institutes in Uttar Pradesh, the administration of the institute is not managed properly and is filled with corruption at extreme levels. 
• This can be observed after seeing the infrastructure and the facilities which are not well-maintained. 
• There are no specific deadlines for important tasks and activities. 
• Every person just does anything whenever they like.

Fests 

• The branch fests, occurring in the first month of the academic year, make first-year students become acquainted with the college. 
• These fests at IET dilute the other annual college fests, in which other colleges also participate. 
• This indicates a lack of interest among students due to the similar branch fests and thus compromising the reputation of the college.

Politics

• It is bearable up to the administrative level, but it should not be overlooked at the student level. 
• Students form groups to take credit for everything owing to their selfish nature and to maintain their so-called reputation in the institute. While they should be working together for the improvement of the institute.
• Instead of decorating the faculty housings at the institute, the Sportsfield, Canteen, SAC, and Auditoriums of IET should be maintained regularly.

These are the major changes which the students wish to see in the institute. Many others can only be observed once you get enrolled at the institute.

Yes definitely. If you are still familiar with your 11th and 12th subjects, you should attempt JEE Main. If you can prepare well and hope to get a good rank, you will go a long way.

There are many of my friends who attempted JEE Main and got a good rank and are now in top NITs. This will positively impact your mental and emotional health and grow your career graph.

If you cannot get a better college than IET then do not get disheartened. IET Lucknow is not a bad college. Students from this institute have shown their caliber in GATE, CAT, GRE, and many other competitive exams. Placements here have been low due to a lack of willingness among companies to visit the campus.

However, keep in mind that there is no harm in trying and if you make informed choices then you can achieve success.

The hostel rooms have basic equipment like every other hostel. IET Lucknow has 2 hostels named Ramanujam and Aryabhatt. The maintenance is better in the former hostel. The rooms here are equipped with the following:

• The rooms are suitable for 4 students for all 1st-year students. Each student will get a bed made out of plywood.
• 4 sets of almirah spacious enough each for one student. 
• A table and chair for each student 
• 2 Fans in the Non-AC rooms 
• Well-lit tube lights 

The rooms at IET Lucknow’s hostels are good and you will not have to worry about anything.

One of my friends studied at IET and his experience was really good. Thus, I have a clear idea about IET and would suggest you opt for IET because of the reasons below. 

• IET Lucknow enrolls students by UPSEE and this ensures the quality of students every time. UPSEE ensures a better peer on the college campus.
• IET Lucknow will provide you with opportunities to prepare for higher education. There are a lot of coaching centers in the vicinity. 
• The placement record of IET is also decent. According to the recent placement highlights the median CTC offered at the institute is 5 LPA. 

IET Lucknow is the best option for students who are really keen to invest their time in their studies. It would be better to not go for the infrastructure and physical appearance, try to understand what institute provides better education. Do your own research, and choose wisely.
