Currently, my elder brother is placed at Cognizant as a senior business analyst at 14 Lakh CTC in IIM Kashipur. How much would he be earning in the next 5 years?
The IT industry today is flourishing and is facing a huge shortage. So he will definitely land a great job especially if he is a BBA/BCOM graduate.
Cognizant does not have very fast growth. So depending on his performance, and economic and academic background, he might witness growth between 2% to 10%. If he is an engineer from the IT stream, his growth will be faster.
In my personal opinion, his IT background does not make him suitable for IIM Kashipur or even Lucknow. An IT software engineer with 2 years of experience earns around 18 to 20 lakh.
Which university is better: Punjab University Punjabi University or GNDU?

Which is the best hospital for Contoura Vision, Eye7 or AIIMS, Delhi?
Without any second thoughts, AIIMS Delhi is one of the best eye hospitals in India providing excellent services in the field. There are only a few hospitals that offer Contoura Vision and AIIMS Delhi is one of them. Being a government hospital, you can be certain of its credibility and avail of the services at a much lower rate.
However, like any other government college, you will have to wait hours even after booking an appointment. Sometimes people refrain from going to AIIMS just because of the tiring preliminary steps that require multiple visits. If you too have no financial constraints and don't want to waste time m, go for Eye7, a private hospital. Here is the interview experience of one of the students from IIM Rohtak.
The first two minutes of the interview were conducted impromptu. She got the then-trending topic of the Sabarimala temple and women's participation in it. She'd done a lot of research on the subject, so she felt comfortable discussing the specifics. She remained objective and spoke about both opposing viewpoints. This section assisted her in becoming more comfortable with speaking and developing a consistent flow.
The interview portion began immediately after the extempore portion ended. One male and one female panelist were present. They scanned her file and inquired about her certificates for sports and extracurricular activities. The first two questions concerned her undergraduate studies. The following two questions were about the differences between digital and internet marketing.
The following two questions were lighter in nature. She was questioned regarding the state's greeting phrase, Punjab, as well as the number of districts and largest city in the state.
She had just graduated and had no prior work experience, so she brought along a creative or physical specimen to display as her finished product in the brief internships she completed concurrently with her graduation. The final query related to the concept of the inventive tool and its application within the company.
In addition, the interview provided her with the opportunity to tour the IIM Rohtak campus in all of its splendor.
How are hostels at NIT Kurukshetra?
I am a fresher at NIT Kurukshetra, residing in H2 boys hostel. I will describe the condition of boys hostels at NIT Kurukshetra using my limited knowledge-
- Freshers are allotted 3 seater rooms which are small and old.
- H1, H2 and H3 hostels do not have Wifi facilities. Instead they have WLAN which is useful only if you have a laptop or a router.
- The student committee of each hostel decides the menu. It is a good thing that the choice of meals is handled by the students themselves.
- Overall the hostels are great. They have open grounds where you can play sports like tt, chess, badminton, volleyball, etc., given that you arrange the required equipment.
- You can watch tv till 10 pm in the common rooms. You can also read newspapers over there.
- During 1st month, freshers can only travel to their classes and back. This is done to ensure that there is no ragging.
- Once the freshers party is done with, you can enjoy all the freedom.
NIT Kurukshetra hostels are good. You will enjoy your time over here.
Which is better NSIT IT or NIT Kurukshetra CS?
A lot of factors need to be considered while choosing one between NSIT IT and NIT Kurukshetra CS. If you are someone who wants a happening and vibrant campus life, and also an active social life at clubs, malls, water parks, and all that, you need to go for NSIT Delhi because the capital has a lot of such places. It will be difficult to have a fun-filled life at NIT Kurukshetra. However, the outside life does not matter much because you will hardly have any free time to hang out. So it’s not the only criteria you should consider.
The placement scenario of both the institutes is somewhat similar and almost every company that visits NSIT visits NITK as well.A few times NSIT students did receive exceptionally good packages but that happens rarely. Overall, there isn’t much difference in terms of packages and job opportunities.

The academic environment at both the institutes is great and both have excellent and some diametrically opposite professors. NIT Kurukshetra has a better coding culture. This is because there is no outside life so the majority of students spend time in hostels resulting in intense competition among them.
Is IIM-A campus more beautiful than IIM-L or IIM-C?
All the above IIMs, i.e. IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Lucknow, and IIM Calcutta are very beautiful but beauty is a subjective matter and it depends on the person on which campus he/she finds more beautiful, but if you still want a particular answer, then it has to be IIM Ahmedabad.
The campus of IIM Ahmedabad is very beautiful and it is among the most beautiful colleges in our country. The architecture is very good especially the new campus and the old campus is also being renovated.
What adds to the charm of the institute is the feeling that the reputed alumni sat in the same place and contemplated life and beyond from the same place, that you get to hang out.
What is the position of IIT Ropar among other IITs?
IIT Ropar started in the year 2008 and since then it has shown tremendous growth. Among its contemporaries, IIT Ropar lags behind only IIT Indore and IIT Hyderabad. Here are the different aspects on which it is performing extremely well:
- Faculty- The professors are a little strict, but they are very learned at the same time. They teach really well. Make sure to be attentive during the lectures.
- Curriculum and Labs- The curriculum and labs are both up to date and are improving further with time. The labs are well equipped and the lab staff is very supportive.
- Seniors- The seniors are very helpful and put in a lot of effort for cultural and academic activities.
- Placements- The placement scenario is quite promising. For the B.Tech students during 2023 placements, the highest salary stood at INR 55 LPA ( for CSE and EE branches). The average salary stood at INR 22.49 LPA and the median salary stood at INR 16.62 LPA. 80.85% of students were placed in the B.Tech courses during placements.
- Major/Minor- At IIT Ropar, you will get the choice of selecting a minor alongside your major. If for example, you are studying Electrical Engineering, you can choose CSE as your minor to also study CSE courses alongside.
- Students- You will find some of India’s best brains in every field over here. The competitive spirit and coding culture are great in this institution.
- NIRF Rankings- IIT Ropar (Rupnagar) stands at the 22nd spot in the NIRF India Rankings 2023 for Engineering colleges category. It stands at the 33rd spot in the NIRF 2023 Rankings for the overall category.
Thus, IIT Ropar is doing quite well as an IIT and is showing continuous and rapid growth.
How are the placements in mining at VNIT, Nagpur?
Till 2017, VNIT recorded good placements in its Mining department. Coal India was the major recruiter, and it offered good packages.
In the past few years, fewer core companies visit the campus. Vedanta, LnT, etc. visit and recruit few students each year. PSUs like SAIL, NTPC and NLC recruit GATE qualified students. However, they only have a few vacancies. Getting a core job isn’t guaranteed.
You can try for non-core companies (IT, Management, Trading ,etc). With some experience and proper skillset, you can increase your chances of getting selected. For this experience and skill set, you’ll need internships. But such companies are open for multiple branches, so you’ll have to put in more effort and prove your excellence.

How is the mess food at IIM Visakhapatnam?
Food served at IIM Vishakhapatnam’s mess is generally decent and edible. One does not have to frequently resort to ordering food from outside. The recent supplier is a 4-star hotel in Visakhapatnam.
- They offer a wide variety of cuisine satisfying the taste buds of everyone including vegetarians, non-vegetarians, and egg lovers.
- The utensils of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian are separate and so are the cutlery.
- The mess follows a 4-meal per-day program comprising breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner
- A 24/7 working coffee vending machine is also available in every hostel
- The serving staff is polite and caters to the issues of all the students
- Great importance is given to hygiene and safe food handling
- In case of illness you can ask the hostel committee to get you separate food from outside
- Students who fast can also get their special food by informing the hostel committee beforehand.
- The menu includes both North and South Indian dishes. Other than the main course the students also get Fruits, milk, tea, and coffee.
Such amazing mess facilities make it easy for the students to live a comfortable hostel life without missing homemade food much.
