What is the importance of easy notes in CSJM Kanpur?
Easy notes offer important questions and examination patterns but it would be advised to not rely on the answers or solutions given there. The answers are quite disappointing and irrelevant. You should rather prefer the general textbooks.
However, if the exams are near, you cannot read the textbooks due to time constraints, in this case, you can go for easy notes. They can help you with 25% of your preparation.
Select the important topics and look out for the video lectures on Youtube. It would be advised to buy and follow textbooks especially for Mathematics as the easy notes are not enough.
Can students outside Maharashtra get into JBIMS?
Admission to JBIMS can be gained through two methods: Direct admission based on written scores in CET and other All India entrance tests, or shortlisting based on CAT/CET scores and GD-PI.
For the Direct admission method, 15% of the total intake will be set aside for All India seats. This includes seats for Maharashtra residents, as well as a maximum of 18 seats for students from outside of Maharashtra. The cutoff for these seats is generally a score of 99.98 or higher in any of the entrance tests, such as CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, ATMA, or CET. Additionally, there are 2 seats set aside for students from Jammu and Kashmir, which are not counted among the 18 outside Maharashtra seats.
For the Shortlisting method, there is no fixed quota. Students with a score of 99 percentile or higher, a good profile, and successful performance in the GDPI can be admitted. When this method was followed in the past, students with scores as low as 97 percentile received calls, but most admitted students had scores of 98.8 or higher in CET or CAT. This method promotes diversity and fairness, but the method used for admission is ultimately up to the discretion of the institute.
In conclusion, students from outside of Maharashtra can get into JBIMS as long as they have a strong written score and perform well in the selection process.
How good is PG Diploma in Tool design at NTTF?
NTTF is a good institute for the Tool Design course. The PG is Tool Design is a one-year course. According to one of my friends studying at NTTF, make sure your foundations in mechanical engineering are strong. Also, here are some facts you should keep in mind before deciding:
- Most of the faculty are retired managers or employers from organizations that are very well known.
- The knowledge you will get from NTTF would be immense and if you pursue mechanical engineering from this institute then you will get ample opportunities to explore.
- Coursework is rigorous at NTTF.
- NTTF has a great brand value but sadly it is on the decline.
- The placement scenario is declining at NTTF and the students get internship opportunities instead of full time jobs.
- Only the tool design program attracts recruiters to the campus.
- In the case of academics, due to the decreasing brand value the technical staff is declining in numbers.

In terms of a greater reputation and recognition across the nation, NIT Warangal is a winner. However, there are certain points about IIT jodhpur that you should consider-
- IIT Jodhpur has had its own permanent campus for a few years now. It has newly built infrastructure, A/C rooms, sports facilities, and other amenities.
- Since the labs are newly built, they are among the best and second best in the country with the latest technology and new instruments.
- There is a well established student society and a strong extracurricular base.
- The alumni are studying in Ivy League colleges like Harvard, Purdue, etc. and many are working in highly reputed MNCs like McKinsey, Google, Amazon etc.
- Campus placements are quite promising with offers from top companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, Morgan Stanley, Arcesium, Works Applications etc. Electrical and Mechanical students receive high packages from ISRO and PSUs like BPCL etc.
- IIT Jodhpur students ace exams like GATE, UPSC, CAT, GRE, etc. The students also bring honor to the institution in Gsoc, ACM-ICPC etc.
- The newly designed curriculum is well-integrated with yearly industrial practice, which you get to opt into from the first year.
- The faculty is well-learned and the professors are themselves alumni of prestigious national and international universities. They have publications in reputed conferences and encourage the students to indulge in research and get published in the second or third year.
Thus, IIT Jodhpur is as good an institution as NIT Warangal and even surpasses the latter in certain respects. I would thus suggest you to go for IIT Jodhpur.
