Is Talentedge a good way to take up certificate courses equivalent to an executive MBA from IIM Raipur and XLRI?
The Talentedge platform, created by some of the finest institutions in the country, is an excellent resource for gaining knowledge in the real world through online courses for working executives. To the best of my knowledge, there are both short-term and long-term courses meticulously designed for the executive level in various domains of business acumen.
However, from my observations, most of the programs are from interdisciplinary domains and focus on current business evolutions in order to keep up with the rapidly changing world.
If you are interested in pursuing online certification courses in management and business domains, it would be highly recommended to consider two important platforms: Edx, particularly IIMBx which offers a very synergistic, creative, and practical approach to real-world insights, and SIBM Pune Online Courses. Both of these platforms have a reputation for providing high-quality education and are well-suited for working professionals looking to advance their careers.
Having a 3.5 year experience in EPC Project Management, should one join IIM Nagpur/Vizag or should wait for a year, and go for an Executive MBA?
Before dwelling on the details and explanations, let me give you a simple answer.
- You should go for a 2-year MBA program if you are open to switching domains in the future. One of my friends was in a similar situation with around 4 years of experience in EPC Project Management. After great anticipation, she decided to go for IIM. Visakhapatnam which is a relatively new IIM. But it happened to be one of the best decisions of her life. She realized her inclination toward Finance and ended up with a role in the financial planning department of her company. She says that the MBA program changed her perspective and broadened her career spectrum which would not have been possible if she had taken an Executive program.
- You can go for the Executive program if you want to upscale your career prospects in the same field. Or you want a certificate that can get you a better job at a better company. This is a viable option if you are not open to switching domains and want to stick with your current field.
Now that I have talked about both scenarios let’s clear some misconceptions about the new IIMs. Frankly, they are not yet anywhere near the older IIMs but that does not change the fact that they have been developing at a speeding rate and are bound to do more so in the future. Through various interactions with the alumni, I have inferred that they were glad they joined the new IIM which provided world-class facilities and a breath of fresh air.
I would like to know the career prospects after completing the PGPBM program from IIM Trichy (Chennai campus) or similar courses other than the regular PGP course from IIMs like the EPGP, etc.?
The one-year MBA programs are full-time residential courses offered by various IIMs. These programs have a lot of credibilities. Some major shifts you will experience after completing this program are
- Your Management skills will have been upgraded
- You will be offered better placement opportunities ranging from mid to senior sector roles depending on your profile and past experience
- You will receive high package offers
The admission process is quite a task with great competition. Even after you join, you will be facing industry experts and talented people thereby increasing the competition.
Is the PGPMX offered by IIM Indore equivalent to PGPX offered by IIM A or the PGP offered by ISB?
All these courses have been designed for people with a rich work experience. All the three are 1 year management courses.
Irrespective of which one you pick, you’ll have to work equally hard to establish a position in the industry. The better your college, the more will be expected of you. In the long run, your work will speak for itself.
All the three options are good and equally beneficial, you can choose either of them.
Should I join IIM Lucknow for a PGP now offer in hand or wait and go for a one-year MBA program? My work experience is 45 months with decent academics.
If IIM Lucknow doesn't hire you for positions that are relevant to your experience in a 2-year program, it will be harder for you to land the desired positions (though there are exceptions).
The one-year MBA is designed for students with more than five years of experience and offers many benefits, including a balanced and diverse cohort from which you can learn from their past failures and successes. The placement scene for a 5-year-old male would be highly subjective (depending on your past experience, past brand name, etc.) People with less than six years of experience have been offered AVP positions in reputable MNCs. Therefore, it is dependent upon what you bring to the table.
Furthermore, because the 2-year course is 34/35 years old, industry acceptance is much higher than for the 1-year course, which is now in its 13th year.
Before making a decision, weigh your options and speak with as many alumni as possible.
What is an executive MBA from IIM Indore?
An Executive Post Graduation Program in Management (EPGP) is apparently constituted for working professionals who have a few years of work experience.
That being said, these programs are usually shorter than the 2 year MBA programs and it usually has minimum years of work experience eligibility criteria. Many a time, corporate firms ask their emerging managers to take these courses so that they can be considered for senior roles.
IIM Indore’s Executive Post Graduation Program in Management (EPGP) is a one-year residential program for professionals with experience.
Here are the eligibility criteria for applying.
- You should have secured 50% in your Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent disciplines.
- You should be able to show a valid GMAT score.
- You should have a minimum of 5 years of managerial or entrepreneurial or any relevant professional experience, as per your domain, following graduation.

Is it good to do Executive MBA from IIM Shillong being a mechanical engineer having 5 years of experience in manufacturing industry?
IIM Shillong is a decent option for an executive MBA. Having 5 years of experience will give you an edge. During IIM Shillong placement 2022, Manufacturing and Retail sectors offered around 19% of job offers.
However, institutes such as NITIE, Mumbai, or ISB Hyderabad will be better, for Manufacturing. NITIE Mumbai placements are excellent for Manufacturing. During the recent placement drive, the highest CTC offered from the manufacturing sector was INR 24 LPA.
